If you want a food holiday... Kuala Lumpur is definitely the best place to go. Wonderful local food, cheap street food, and great upmarket dining.

For upmarket, I really suggest Jogoya Japanese Buffet. The buffet is insane, and youre looking at about maybe 25 AUSD, which is 19 bucks USD>

Its in the middle of the Kuala Lumpur CBD, so you know its pretty high quality, and very expensive for the locals. (Lunch can be had for 70 cent USD.)... But for foreigners its pretty cheap for an epic all-you-can eat.

Its a Japanese Buffet, but also so much more. Korean food, chinese food, indian food, western food, seafood, hotpot, dumplings, dimsum, sushi... you name it they got it. Its humungous. Definitely worth a visit if youre ever in KL for a holiday, or a plane stopover.

Its setup like a market, with different stations/stalls for each different cuisine.

For the local stuff, cant go past Banana Leaf Curry Rice. Its like a curry rice which is served on a banana leaf. The best place Ive been is in a place called Bangsar in Kuala Lumpur, which is 15 mins from the CBD. On the street called "Jalan Bangsar 1", there is a great local place that does it really well. Great experience to have. Theres quite alot of these different places around KL, and they'll mostly be of exceptional quality.

That looks like an awesome place. I always thought if I started a restaurant, it would be like the four corners with different cuisines in each. But asian food is my favorite, so I'd love that.

Someone mentioned what is the best all you can eat sushi in Phoenix? Well I know of a place called Mido Sushi I believe it's called, I went there a couple years ago and it used to be 19.99 all you can eat. I went there every couple days for three months straight and then they raised the price to 21 all you can eat. I went back last Christmas and it was 24.99 for all you can eat. I would still recommend it if you eat as much sushi as I do. I go to sushi places all the time here in Portland and I normally spend $70-80 for two people.

They have really good reviews on Google too.

Been there once. I liked it. Been looking for a new all you can eat sushi place for a while now since the one i used to go to keeps changing owners and im not really sure they even do sushi anymore. Might continue to do Mido. Im like you, i wont eat sushi by the piece/roll. My wife and i eat easily over $100 worth when we go, so it just it just doesnt make sense not to do all you can eat.

Righto, what's on your Christmas menu?

Summer time over here means we keep it pretty light... a few baked things, some fresh salads and that's about it. Dessert always features a Christmas pud with custard. I'm not making it sound special but it's usually the best feed of the year. Nothing very traditional and a new dish seems to find its way onto the table each year.

I imagine you are talking about Pavlova, and I was looking to see if they had any good pre-made ones at some of the quality shopping stores here. Found some good recipes but not much of a cook myself. Looks damn good though.

Nah, proper Christmas pud. It was very tasty.

Pavlova is a massive pain to make, especially for someone not too keen on baking. You have to keep the temp low and rest it too.

Summer Christmas is pretty great. There's heaps of seasonal stuff that is delicious.

Best Asian places in Arizona? I haven't found a place I really like since moving back from Portland. Love mongolian grills.

It's been so long but best authentic Thai when I lived there was Malee's Thai Bistro (I think that's it) in downtown schedule. They opened a new one at Desert Ridge, a bigger one back then, but I think it closed. There are other Thai Basi's I see now, but I can't vouch for those. Though Thai is my favorite, followed by Indian. There was another pretty good one on Indian School or Thomas around 32nd St, but mostly went there because of work.

It's always tough to find good chinese. Not sure about Japanese or Taiwanese.. Not a huge fan of Mongolian Grills myself.

Can barely go wrong with good Thai Curry. I prefer red or green or maybe Panang. For indian I prefer good buffets to sample all the tasty dishes.

I like how these two have kept the essence and soul of Korean Cuisine within the dish, while adding an american BBQ element to the food. As a Korean, I respect that. Something like this would be amazing business in Korea. This couple should look at opening up a store in Seoul near a University. It would make a killing as all Koreans are not only foodies, but people with insane appetites and love their meat.
