Its all about individual fundamentals, skill drills, and the same fast-break drill that dominates most of the practices I see with young (like high school age and younger) teams. The literally spend the majority of practice just throwing up intentional misses in order to practice boxing out, rebounding, outlet pass, run-run-run. Everybody is a guard. Everybody has the green light.

Sorry to quote my self but I wanted to add: our 7 seconds offense would have never been successful without being complimented by a deadly half-court pick and roll. In the last year or two of watching different youth club teams, I can literally not think of a single time they practiced the pnr. Whereas they run that fastbreak drill every single practice.

i think some of the problem with this team besides the obvious ones of poor defense, shot selection and coaching.. is other than Bledsoe and Chandler (who both seem emotionally checked out) the team is just not very physically strong and it was obvious when Portland starting getting physical the suns pretty much caved. This is exasperated when starting both Warren and Jackson together But even though both Chriss and Bender are bigger bodies neither are physically strong or at least don't play like they are. Hopefully a few years of maturity and weight training can address some of that

1. It was our home opener. After we were up 9-2, we let the fans down (in house or at home).
2. Losing by this much means we came into the season unprepared. Even the preseason we didn't look good. Not sure if that's on Watson or just that we're a very young team still.

I don't expect we'll see a loss close to that one the rest of the way (I think we'll win our next game actually) but if we are worse than last season, or we don't see any development from our young players, then Watson will be on the hot seat.
If nothing else, there's no way we keep Bledsoe and Chandler should we not improve.

I did fall asleep mid-2nd and never woke back up (on the east coast coming off just a few hours sleep after a foo fighters show the night prior).
Can someone just give me a run down of the good and the bad?
Did Jackson look bad or just lost because the team is new to him?
What about Ulis, Peters, DJJ, and Mike James?

How many foos did they fight?

lol many foos were fought

We lost a lot of grit and toughness with tucker gone and williams being out. Those two were the heart of the team last year.

U know it's bad when Suns.com has nothing about this game (unless you dig through the 'schedule and results' section). A win would have been front page.
Pretty crazy.

Which verse of the Earl bible is that from?

Yeah, I was trying to figured out what the 1-12 meant.

It's his predicted Suns record after 13 games.

Sounds a little optimistic.

11 players got minutes. I assumed 1-12 meant everyone including him. Hopefully I am not giving him too much credit.

The Suns’ 10 assists came on 28 field goals, an indication they got caught playing too much one-on-one basketball.

“I think sometimes the ball sticks in our hands a little bit and we just need to share it a little bit more,” James said.

Watson said he couldn’t repeat what he told the players in the locker room.

“Coach didn’t have to say anything to us,” Booker said. “Luckily, it was only worth one loss. It felt like five.”

Nothing to say? They'd still be running suicides if it were my team.

Lol. I love the bitching and moaning about Booker...Maybe you guys would be happier if he played elsewhere. Being over critical of anyone especially Booker is ridiculous. This team is garbage, so trying to analyze what garbage is what is a waste of time at this point. We have a ways to go before we need to worry about what's wrong with Booker, but go ahead and moan and bitch.

Clowns looking for efficiency from and inefficient team!?! That's like looking for a honest person within a den of thieves.

You guys will be wanting to get rid of Jackson next. As if we were expected to look good as a team. Booker issue is with Watson and Bledsoe more than Booker.

i didn't see anyone say they wanted to trade him, but that doesn't keep fans from criticizing and he has flaws and is part of the reason the team is inefficient.. since you're so quick to give us some advice here's some for you, take off the fanboy hero worship glasses and stop treating fan criticism like someone kicked your dog.

Are you not able to read? I have not seen anyone saying to trade him.

I literally said I do not see him as a #1 and I hope he becomes that ! As of now, he is still 20 years old and has time to grow but he really isn't performing like all of you said he would be. It is just one game, but it looked ugly! Hope he shines tomorrow.

If Ball outplays our Suns, I will be mad.

The warriors led the nba in assists per possession last yeah. Phx was dead last. We’re dead last through 1 game this year. Yes we need to do a much better job of quality passes instead of this iso ball. Not sure it will happen with the current coaching staff
