May aa well have mentioned Byron Scott and Mike Brown too while your at it.
Karl is a good coach but bashed a bunch of players in his book (saying their absence of fathers stunted their maturity) so probably wouldn't be popular. Did well in Seattle (got to finals once), Milwaukee (got to ECF once) and Denver (coached them to their best record ever and lost in 2nd round to championship Lakers), but in Sacramento butted heads with Cousins (but that's not abnormal).
He did get upset in the first round when the higher seed at least twice though, once when he was the 1 seed in Seattle in 94.

Most teams allow assistants to leave for a head coaching gig. Its just when a Head Coach wants to make a lateral move to another Head Coaching gig elsewhere that compensation comes into play.
He is the guy I would want. I would give up a second rounder.

The problem is Pop is preparing Messina to be the new Spurs head coach.
I thought he was preparing Becky Hammon for that job.

I think I might be losing faith in mcd. Is there a thread to discuss his eventual firing?

What scares me most is a knee-jerk reaction by Sarver that derails the rebuild.
The worst thing we could do is fire McDonough and start trading assets to try to be an 8th seed team now.

Going to be interesting to see the bench tomorrow night with him being the only one there besides the players.
Nash seems like an obvious assistant coach to me...He is great friends with Triano and Obviously he's one of the best players to every put on a Suns Jersey but I don't know if he wants the job.

He doesnt. Right now he is in Cali, with his kids, being a shooting coach for the Warriors, on his way to another ring. Nice lifestyle, low responsibilities. I know we tried to approach Nash in the past and he passed and a year later jumped on the Warriors bandwagon.

I know but it might be different with Triano in charge. He literally quit playing for team Canada when he was about 30 because Triano got fired and he said he'd only come back if he was re-hired.

Re: Earl Watson FIRED!!!!
Being a Blazer fan i LOVE Dame but Watson was not the answer and JT needs to stay HC for rest of season while the Suns front office does research etc to make sure the next hire is a homerun cause from an outsiders view it has to be to make sure the youth on the team grows the right way.
I have a couple names i think the Suns should look at:
David Vanterpool -- Blazer Asst atm but is considered one of the top asst coaches in the league atm BUT considering the Suns just went with someone with NO Head coaching experience i could see this being a bad idea for some
Sean Miller - Arizona Head coach -- With the FBI probe going on if the Suns ponied up the money he might be tempted to jump ship before he gets dragged down. He seems like a pretty good coach and would not have to worry about NCAA violations - LOL

No because the players do have to take some responsibility. I'd say 80% is on the coach for not preparing them right and not making the changes required when things aren't going our way. Ultimately, it's the coach's responsibility to strategize for each team and it's up to those players to execute the strategy. We weren't overwhelmed in essentially every game and it's only the poor defense of a very young LA team which allowed us to be somewhat competitive.
But I don't think it's just the 3 games, it's a combination of a lack of development from our players, lack of improvement from a coaching ability standpoint and what appears to be Watson losing the confidence of his team.

They still have Corbin and they brought up a guy or two from the D league and someone who was already helping. McD mentioned it all in the press conference.

Re: Earl Watson FIRED!!!!
Jazz fan here, (used to be a huge Suns fan growing up). I don't know if the Jazz board would agree with me but I think Quinn Snyder is probably our greatest asset (maybe a close tie with Rudy Gobert). I think it would be good for the Suns if they were able to hire a guy like Messina, but I was also wondering what you guys thought about Igor Kokoskov? He is the Jazz assistant coach (2nd to Quinn) and has some pretty extensive coaching background both in Europe and as an assistant (even for the Suns in 2008). He seems like the kind of guy who will get a shot at head coaching eventually AND he will have been groomed by Quinn who focuses on designing a team towards their strengths/personnel...I don't consider the Jazz very talented but we have good ball movement and the defense is good to elite. For the Jazz sake I hope he doesn't leave, but he might be a good fit for you guys.

If he's half as good as Snyder, I'd take him in a heartbeat.
