Nashty: Game 32 @ Dallas

Post#1 » by batsmasher » Tue Dec 19, 2017 4:01 am

Standings

How it works
Spoiler:
After each Suns game, an MVP thread will be opened for you to vote for your top 3 players. These threads can be created by anyone, as long as there isn't currently a thread for that game.

Anyone can vote for the 3-2-1 (including other fans from other forums) but you can only vote for the Suns players (or coach).

3 votes to who you think was a the best Suns player.
2 for the second best
and 1 for the 3rd best.

**EDIT: as of January something-or-other 2017, you can now distribute votes for the Nashty and Cactus however you please. You have a total of 6 votes to give out, but now you have the freedom to do what you want with those 6. The only condition which applies is no more than 3 votes can be given to one player (or coach) in either award. **

In the event of a Suns loss, you are also encouraged to vote for the Cactus of the game:

-3 votes for the player most responsible for the loss
-2 votes for the second most responsible
-1 for the third most responsible

Any votes with more than 3 players listed and not in the required format will not count. Voting will close before the start of the next Suns game.

After the thread closes, the votes will be tallied. The highest scoring total Sun gets 3 points, the next 2, and the third gets 1 point towards their season total. In the event of a tie in a count for a game, if the result of the game is a Suns win, a maximum of 4 players will be awarded points. A tie in the event of a loss will only result in a maximum of 3 players getting awarded points.

The player with the highest total at season's end wins the award!

The same applies for the Cactus of the Year, although of course the lowest tally at year's end takes it.

+2 Len. Great to see two consecutive great games from Alex.
+2 Canaan. He dominated Barea...and that is not easy to do. He mixes pretty well passing and scoring.
+2 Warren. He was the only one who could defend Barnes, and he made his job offensively.

I'll go the same...+2 each for those three. Warren had more turnovers than usual but canceled most with his steals. Len impressive once again and Canaan, as someone mentioned, played like a borderline all star, which is what this team needs.

+2 Len: Decent last couple games for Len. He tried to do a bit too much a few times instead of making the simple play, but overall he controlled the paint when he was out there.
+2 Canaan: Definitely playing better than Ulis of late. Not a good point guard by any means, but he's showing how important shooting and strength are for smaller point guards (coughUliscough).
+2 Warren: Clutch late game block, scored when we needed it, and did a solid job on defense most of the night.

HM: Bender: Shot confidently from 3 (almost positive he was actually 2-4 despite box scores saying 1-3?), did a good job making things difficult on defense whether it was Dirk or Barnes. I liked to see him be a bit more aggressive going to the paint, seems like he's really only comfortable driving with his right hand right now though.

Yeah I can't argue against a +2 for those 3. All had equal parts in this win.

+3 Canaan
+2 Len
+1 Warren

Only reason I went 3/2/1 instead of 2/2/2 is because we expect that out of TJ, and we should be expecting that out of a former top 5 pick in his 5th season. Canaan is out of nowhere, so he gets the +3.
