Nashty: Game 63 vs Grizzlies

Post#1 » by bwgood77 » Thu Mar 1, 2018 3:30 am

Standings

How it works
Spoiler:
After each Suns game, an MVP thread will be opened for you to vote for your top 3 players. These threads can be created by anyone, as long as there isn't currently a thread for that game.

Anyone can vote for the 3-2-1 (including other fans from other forums) but you can only vote for the Suns players (or coach).

3 votes to who you think was a the best Suns player.
2 for the second best
and 1 for the 3rd best.

**EDIT: as of January something-or-other 2017, you can now distribute votes for the Nashty and Cactus however you please. You have a total of 6 votes to give out, but now you have the freedom to do what you want with those 6. The only condition which applies is no more than 3 votes can be given to one player (or coach) in either award. **

In the event of a Suns loss, you are also encouraged to vote for the Cactus of the game:

-3 votes for the player most responsible for the loss
-2 votes for the second most responsible
-1 for the third most responsible

Any votes with more than 3 players listed and not in the required format will not count. Voting will close before the start of the next Suns game.

After the thread closes, the votes will be tallied. The highest scoring total Sun gets 3 points, the next 2, and the third gets 1 point towards their season total. In the event of a tie in a count for a game, if the result of the game is a Suns win, a maximum of 4 players will be awarded points. A tie in the event of a loss will only result in a maximum of 3 players getting awarded points.

The player with the highest total at season's end wins the award!

The same applies for the Cactus of the Year, although of course the lowest tally at year's end takes it.

+3 Jackson (his best game - 29 pts on 16 shots, 7 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks)
+1 Len (efficient, 11 boards, 4 assists)
+1 Payton (efficient, 10 boards, a few assists, though 6 turnovers is too many)
+1 Booker (decent game but not a fan of 12-29 kind of nights - 34 pts on 29 shots)

HM - Shaq Harrison...almost there

+3 Josh
+1 Payton
+1 Book
SHAQ HM

One thing I hate is how comfortable a player like Booker gets to being able to chuck when he wants. I love book's game , it just sucks thathe hasnt played with a good enough team to where he has to think about possessions instead of knowing he can shoot any shot at any time

+3 JJ - best game so far and it was a very impressive one too
+1 Booker - Not his most efficient game but still got to the line 10 times and finished with a solid 34pts
+1 Len- Team best +18 in 25min played, grabbed 11 rebounds and dropped 4 dimes.
+1 Shaq - brought his signature hustle off the bench *and* still gave us 7/5/2/4 in only 18min of playing time.

HM: Wanted to give Payton a Nashty for his efficient scoring game and 10 rebounds but with other guys stepping up logging a team high 6 TO's left him out of this one.

Dishonorable mention: Chriss - cmon kid, 5 fouls in 7 minutes and missing all your FGA while topping the team with a -8 plus/minus is just not good enough. Dude really needs to figure it out or he's on his way out of the league the same way as Archie.

Yeah, I've predicted a bust from him since day one. He's a bum haha.

This.

Me too, except I'll give Booker's +1 to Len.

Booker has been pissing me off for several games now. He's chucking. He's ignoring open teammates. He's not making up for it with defense or intangibles.

Would it even be possible for a new coach to reign him in and get him to play a more complete game? To stop taking terrible shots?

Book ain't commanding the tank, but he sure doesn't seem to mind manning its machine gun.
