Suns are done!

Post#1 » by SunsRback4Good » Tue Mar 27, 2018 9:44 am

The Suns are the most unluckiest and truly cursed franchise in the 4 professional sports. This team has been a franchise for 50 years and only made the finals twice, thats right " twice" in half a century. So, why do fans still pay for tickets to support a franchise that has a top 5 percentage wise in the regular season, but when it comes to the postseason they are nowhere to be found? You can give this team Greg Popovich along with fantastic management and they'd still lay an egg and lose. Its time this team relocated so everyone's stress level can go back to normal and we can get back to our lives. Look at Houston, they are about to win a ring with Dantoni and also have a better season in his first year with the Rockets than Phoenix had with him in 04-05 season. Golden State even had horrible years until they landed Curry, Green & Thompson yet Suns never draft those type's of players or win 2 out of 3 rings about to be 3 out of 4 this season for the Dubs. If I was Booker Id leave for a better team that knows how to play the right way cause he ain't ever winning anything special on this team and everybody knows it. Maybe in another 50 years we'll make a finals appearance when majority of us will be dead.

Why do you ask? Am I not allowed to voice my opinion on a team that hasn't amounted to any playoff success in half a century?

Yeah, it has been frustrating to watch Suns basketball for the last few years, but that is what we get as a fans.

I love basketball. I prefer to play some ball over watch it on TV, but as time goes on it is more and more difficult to play because of the family, the work, tired legs and a lot of more stuff.....so it's always a good option to watch your favourite team as an entertainment.

And that is the key. It's an entertainment. It's all fun and it it's not a big deal. Other things in life are so crucial and important, but that is not one of them. I love the Suns and I "enjoy" to struggle watching them lose or win games....obviously it would be better if we win more games and go to the playoffs but that time will come, I am pretty sure about it.

I think that we are gonna make a lot of changes on our roster for next season. A new coach, a top #4 pick and some trades/signings can make this team way better than in this season and more fun to watch. We are having a tough time but everything can change pretty quickly. Don't lose your hope.

I think most of us are aware that the Suns won’t be winning a title during any of our lifetimes. However, as a fan we have to believe in the ole phrase of “always next year” and have that hope.

Only other thing to do is pray that Robert Sarver sells or gets caught up in some type of scandal and gets forced out by the league.

Yes we know we've had a terrible history of not winning any championships. I was a Suns ballboy in 2007 during the run with Nash at the helm.

Do me a favor, when we have Ayton as our big man and we're a dominant team again next decade with Booker Jackson Bender and Ayton dominating, look back on this post and laugh. Or just give up lol your choice.

Titles or not, we're still the 5th most successful NBA franchise. We reached 3 WCF during the Nash era. Hiding that fact simply because we didn't reach the finals is a mistake.

Everyone knows we've been bad for years now but I prefer watching the youth grow as opposed to being stuck on a treadmill.
Having hope is better than running in place knowing there's no chance to win a title.

I'll take being a competitive and fun team to watch. It's unlikely for most any team to win a title. 2/3 of the league has either never won a title (12 teams) or not won one in at least 34 years( 8 others)...actually only two of those 8 are in the 30s....

12 teams never won. 6 haven't won in 40 or more years, and two others it's been 34 and 39 years.

Of the 10 who have won in the last 34 years, two are right around a 20 year drought...Chicago (20) and Houston (23) though maybe Houston wins this year. Then for the Pistons it's been 14 years.

So in the last 14 years there have been 7 champions, though that is quite a few to have in that time span considering only 10 total have won in the last 34.

What makes it very tough as a Suns fan is that fairly early as a franchise, in 76, they make the finals, miss the next year, but then make the playoffs every year until the drug scandal where they missed 3 years...everyone thought that was the low point..but KJ and company popped them out of it in a crazy turnaround, and we made the playoffs nearly every year until 2010.

We missed it 3 times in there...one year due to a lot of injuries, but we get Amare with our lottery pick (9th) and he leads us to the playoffs as a rookie, and then miss it the next year, but sign Nash in the offseason and turn it around...

And then the only other year we miss was the crazy Porter hiring that messed up more than half our season and we missed them by two games.

So this 8 year drought with likely no clear end to it in sight is bad. Especially if we don't address 3 pt shooting or defense or PG play in the off season and draft a non defensive big that will likely leave us last in 3 pt shooting and D.

SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Luck is important in winning championship as much as talent almost. Getting those talent is also luck. Suns have been unlucky.

But to alleviate your craving just have a second team to follow lol and make sure that team is a contender haha

I see. Thank you for sharing. Try to just keep watching it as it is without judging it too much. I will share more about that kind of feeling tomorrow.
