With Boston making the ECF with a 19 year old Tatum and 21 year old Jaylen Brown, Lebron might give Phoenix's youth more than a second glance. He also might be preparing to slow down his load as he ages. He's 33 now, and I'm willing to bet he has at least 2-3 years of elite, top-5 production, then another 2-3 years old of decent, all-star level production like Kareem did in the 80's.
Booker needs to be extended but could potentially fit better next to him than Kyrie
Jackson has shown some real potential as a wing-defender, slasher, finisher and creator.
Throw in Ayton, who in a perfect world comes into the league like Duncan did, ready to contend from the get-go.
All of this would allow James to play a Kareem-like role in his old age or even a David Robinson, but from the PG-SF-PF position.
Do we have the wherewithal (cap space, expirings, picks etc) to make this happen? The balls? Does Cleveland even pick up the phone?

What if Dragan Bender would find in the basement of his croatian house a notes made by Nikola Tesla that would allow him to build a time machine and he would decide to go back to the past and bring here prime Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar so they can all join the Suns?
I think this is even better scenario than the Suns getting LeBron. And just as likely to happen.

Re: What possible scenarios would you entertain shooting for Lebron?
So first off, Lebron has a player-option this offseason so he can become a free agent. I think the only reason he opts in is because a trade is in the works, where he goes to a team like the Rockets where they don't have the capability to add Lebron outright in free agency because they don't have the cap space.
As for the Suns, I believe Lebron at least hears a pitch over the phone from James Jones. JJ first tells Lebron, we are only a 2 hour plan ride to LA. James Jones can sell Lebron on the idea that Lebron is joining a team similar to when Lebron joined the Cavs in 2014. They had a young Kyrie Irving, who was considered overrated and had inflated stats, similar to Booker. They had just gotten the No 1 pick in two consecutive drafts Anthony Bennett and Andrew Wiggins. Suns have the cap space to sign Lebron, and then he can maneuver whatever pieces he likes to get the team he wants. I think though we wouldn't trade Booker, Ayton, or even Bender.
Realistically though, I doubt he joins us. Even though I feel we have the assets to do virtually whatever he wants. I'm not sure I'd want that though, and I'd like to grow organically and possibly add a piece or two via trade/free agency.

You're scenario is rather far-fetched. We only have the cap to sign two of the players.

Will sign them cheap. Don't need to tell them about inflation.
