I’m impressed with the Suns effort the last two games. I hope that lasts for most of the remainder of the season.

And even though would like to see Ayton get more touches, I’m enjoying Koksokov’s system which is leading to so much ball movement out on the perimeter.

Exactly..... that is my biggest grip about this offense.

Not only does he need more offensive opportunities but, on the flip side, he also needs to understand angles a little better when he's rolling to the basket.

One of the common elements in the last two games.

Tyson Chandler with no minutes in one, gone in the other.

"Mentoring" in the NBA is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overrated.

It's because he turned it over 5 times and had 6 assists. Still responsible for at least 22 points. Better to see a more well rounded game than just scoring and rebounding.

4 shots is inexcusable but I agree that we should be stoked to see these other elements to his game. I think we could see a triple-double every now and then outta him. Maybe not this year, but eventually.

Most of it was just from him being tentative though. And he was double teamed a lot so took advantage with passing. Heck he was quadruple teamed once. Do you guys really want him trying to shoot over 2, 3 or 4 guys?

I missed the first quarter and was drunk while watching the rest so I can't give much of an analysis. When you have someone as efficient as he is in the paint, you HAVE to run plays that get him the ball on the block, not exclusively at the top of the key.

They tried, and it pulled 4 defenders in. But he made them pay since it left Booker open. As long as he finds a wide open guy that knocks it down, it's not a problem because we scored anyway. Eventually teams will learn they can't do it as much or our shooters will hurt them now that we have better shooters.

Yes, it would be nice to get some easy dunks, but Booker tried way too many lobs down there in heavy traffic that were way off because they had like 3 defenders down there on him. JJ set a nice one but they made it tough. We still won, beating a pretty hot team, so I don't have much issue with it. We had much bigger problems, like turnovers.

It is sound basketball if you have someone like Durant, Harden or Booker on your roster.

Yeah the only team that doesn't run these sets at the end of close games are the Spurs and pre-Durant Warriors. But the current Warriors, Rockets, Raptors, Celtics, Lakers etc all run these same plays.

Those turnovers occurred at the TOP of the key or beyond the three point line. He had one travel in the post and another at the top of the key running that turnover causing motion offense with him always handing off to someone who is being hounded by a defender. It wasn't like he was getting fed in the post and turning it over, then I'd agree with you. The turnovers says he shouldn't be out there doing what he was doing, you are correct. He should be getting fed in the post by someone who actually tries and cares about him getting the ball down there.

Yeah, this is the root of the problem re his low FGAs. Canaan and Okobo are unable to feed him inside.

Despite his turnovers, Jackson has been the only one to consistently get the ball to Ayton around the basket. His alley oops have been mostly on point.

But his early travels he got the ball and is still a very good mid range shooter. If he is available wide open for a dunk, then lobbing it inside is the best shot he can take. Or if he gets a mismatch 1 on 1 in the post like he did once and can take advantage. But when the post is clogged like it was, or he is too tentative to get down there, then it's tough. As Dan D'Antoni clearly demonstrated, trying to shoot over a guy in the post isn't a high % shot. Now for him it's a decent on, but more so if he is has a mismatch or can go around the guy for a dunk. It was pretty rare he was down there with just one guy on him. This isn't by design. As I've mentioned watching him for the last year, he often doesn't know where to go on offense and defense if he doesn't have or is on ball. He's getting a little bit better but it will take time.

Jackson is consistent at

1) turning the ball over
2) getting his shot blocked
3) playing crappy team defense
4) shooting poorly
5) missing free throws
6) whining at the refs
7) Making boneheaded mistakes
8) Trying to play hero ball
9) Being on the court when other teams make their big runs
10) Having the worst advanced stats on the team
11) Having some of the worst advanced stats in the league
12) being untradeable

Fortunately he will consistently lose minutes to Warren, Bridges, Ariza, Anderson, Booker until his butt is firmly glued on the bench where it should be.
