The thing I wonder about all these high draft picks not panning out, besides the front office making bad picks, is whether the coaching has been up to the task of developing them.

It can't just be that they were all back picks. Perhaps Hornacek, Watson, Triano didn't have the right staffs for working with some of this young talent?

I'd be curious to see which coaches worked with Booker and Warren. They need to get a shooting coach for Jackson.

Warriors still have one guy who only works with Curry, as far as I know and you still see them together in practice, working by themselves apart from the other players and coaches.

Ariza didn't come into the league as a shooter but he steadily improved to over a 35% shooter from 3 over the course of his 14-year career.

You would hope they're doing everything they can to improve Jackson's shooting.

If the season gets away, record-wise, they might as well give Jackson more minutes to develop. His minutes have gone from 25 to 19 minutes from his rookie season to this season so far.

He's 7th in minutes, behind Warren and Anderson, just ahead of Bridges.

Now Bridges is shooting well so far, on slightly more 3PA per game, so maybe he's losing minutes to Bridges too.

But if the team record gets to a point where a playoffs spot is unreachable, they need to give Jackson more minutes than Anderson and maybe also Warren. And of course more playing time than Ariza, unless the team plans to keep him.

Even if he can't improve his shooting significantly, they have to see if there are other ways he could contribute, like being a great defender or find other ways to score like slashing off the ball. Wow 62.9% FT for career and 53% this year. Not a good sign for his shooting abilities.

Man, you crazy. Zion is going to be more than strong enough to hang with anyone in the NBA. Randle is basically a very poor man's version. Zion reminds me of a more athletic Barkley.

Yeah, if Zion can hit the 3, and he hit his only attempt last night, then he will be tough. I'd be happy with Zion, Barrett or Reddish though. Reddish the best defender and probably the best passer...had 4 steals last night, 3-8 from 3, 3 assists, 7-7 from the line, 22 pts. Barrett with 33, 6 assists, 4 rebounds and 3-7 from 3.

And this was on the road against the #2 team in the country. It's not like they were beating up on scrubs....they were beating up on Calipari's team, as freshmen.

I was very Anti-Zion but watching him play at this level is making me want to believe. Obviously its a step down from the NBA but he would still be strongest, most athletic player on the court in the NBA 90% of the time. He looks like a young lebron level athlete in a thicker body.

Zion is amazing, but too thick. He will have weight, knee, back problems sooner than later. But he is a joy to watch until then. I wouldn't mind him on the Suns for the first 8 years of his NBA career for sure.
