Didn't even think about Warren, but good point. He has been a head-case in many
different ways, and yeah, RIP Girlfriend. I think Jackson is the odd man out in Book's comments. There was some glowing Mikal Bridges praise from Booker after his breakout against Memphis and Book seemed to like playing more with Mikal last night. Book seemed to play harder and actually looked for him.
I don't know Booker... but if you listen closely, sometimes it is what he doesn't say as much as what he does say. And when he does praise or make take shots at people or things, we should listen. It's like when he took a shot at foreign players with no college experience (see Bender).
Safe to say Booker is NOT a fan of foreign guys. Also safe to say that there are some pretty sensitive players on the Suns who are affecting chemistry, confidence.
Lack of effort is sometimes a symptom of lack of chemistry.
I don't see a problem with Warren. He seems to go about and to his job. It seems like JJ doesn't really fit in well with Book or people. But they did hang out.
I think if anything it might be that Jackson or possibly TJ (but doesn't seem like him) are a little irritated that Ariza gets SO many minutes, and especially that Anderson does.
But the chemistry looks off with Anderson and a lot of those guys.
I just think he mainly means they need to work on and develop chemistry with all the new pieces.
Absolutely--spot on. Booker is not interested in 'middling' around...being mediocre for a year...especially at the expense of our long-term plans. If I'm Booker, and I just signed my Max deal, and know that I am the future star of this franchise, I want to start 'building' a winner...not trying to 'transplant' a few old pieces to make us mediocre. I'm sure he would welcome a top-flight All-Star, but none of these older Vets....Ariza, Anderson, Crawford...are doing a darn thing for us long-term. All they are doing is clogging up the roster, and preventing guys like Bridges from getting the meaningful development minutes they need.
