Booker all star
I think Book is borderline superstar. But I suppose first he needs to get voted into the all star team.
That campaign should begin now. If I’m his pr team I’m starting that narrative now

Well, one positive is that Butler isn't likely to make it this year. Last year Kawhi didn't anyway. If Chris Paul is healthy this year, he might make it.
Will be tough with guards in the west.

I think it will come down to PR. If Book had Doncic's PR team, he'd run away with it.
I like Paul's game a lot. but honestly, if it were today, i'd rather have book on my team.
Besides, wouldn't Paul go in as a PG? What SG's will Book be competing with for all star nods?
Does the press still handle the voting? Last year didn't coaches vote too?

I don't think it goes by 5 different positions...just guards, forwards and centers I think. I think 6 guards. So probably he goes against Curry, Lillard, Westbrook, Harden, DeRozan, Paul.....Butler is messing himself up...and tanking his trade value.
After that you have a bunch of others like Jrue, Conley, Mitchell, the Denver guards, and who knows if guys like Hield (63.5% TS%, 20 PPG), Fox (19, 8 and 5 and shooting well...better from 3 than Book even) get consideration. Probably some others I'm forgetting..not sure how McCollum is doing...or the Clips guards.
It's hard if you are on one of the worst teams unless you are a super duper star.

Who's the last all-star on a bottom 5 team? Legit question

Not sure if LeBron was on a bottom team. Maybe Cousins one year. I guess LeBron was a bottom 10 team. Actually just checking..he wasn't an all star as a rookie.
Cousins made it on a 6th worst and 7th worst team.

Probably Boogie then. Kings were like 18-34 before the all star break.
But C position has always been pretty shallow

Dang thats some tough competition. Just for fun, does anyone know any other really good offensive player in the nba who never made the all star team? This guy scored 70 pts once and I agree with you guys here, it does not look like he has a chance any time soon.

It's a combination of player voting, fan voting and coach voting to see who makes it. That draft is just that it's no longer east and west. They choose two captains and they pick the teams playground style. Last year I think the captains were LeBron and Curry and LeBron had first pick and chose Durant.

the funniest thing is that even without PR, Luka is already very near Booker and have better efficiency numbers.

Luka D. 20.2/6.5/4.2 with 47.9/40.3/76; TS% 59.9; FG% 56.7
Booker 24.9/4.3/6.0 with 44.2/33.3/84; TS% 57.6; FG% 51.2
Maybe they can both play in All Star game?

Re: Booker all star
Do they have Doncic listed as a guard? And yeah, I can’t argue with the numbers. Doncic seems to be walking the walk (I only saw him in game 1)

No, but sometimes they make them eligible as a G/F I think..or at least a couple were listed that way last year. I don't think Doncic will make it.

He won’t make it. He would have had small chance in a team, where they would have given him the keys, but not in the Mavs, where he’s playing mostly off ball.
