A good coach will usually make the team overachieve. The Suns are not, so it's normal for fans to question Igor already. They can't even beat the Bulls, a team most of above excuses apply in full strength too.
Yeah, I was disappointed in the loss to the Bulls, but when Booker shoots 1-8 from 3 and has 6 turnovers, and ends up with 5 fouls taking him out of the game, we will be very hard pressed to beat anyone, because we have so few others who can score...only 2 or 3 others.
And the Bulls are not great, but they were expected to finish better than us and were at home. Parker and Lavine with nice games too. Lavine usually does that but Parker hadn't. It's a lot easier for them to get easy stuff inside against Ayton, so it's understandable, and that's likely something we will have to live with, at least for awhile. I had to watch it and be frusrated by it with Ayton last year watching Ayton at AZ..putting up big numbers and boards but watching other teams go in for uncontested layups and dunks all game.
My point is that players and coaching being bad are not mutually exclusive. We are 3-12 because our team sucks and our coach sucks. I'm not an advanced stats guy because they don't tell the whole story, however, everyone who even remotely follows this team is well aware that we are at our net rating is by far the best when Ayton/Bridges/Booker are on the court together. We built the lead when they played together last night. Yet Igor seems to ignore this when planning his rotations.
Igor defenders also never address why the **** our entire offense is predicated on our behemoth center getting 90% of his touches near the three point line. Yes, it is important that he knows how to run the pick and roll but his lack of looks in the post is inexcusable. And stop blaming the players for not being able to pass to him when he has position in the post. It's the offensive schemes that suck. Rec league players can get the big man the ball if he has position in the post.
Good coaches plan their game around the abilities and shortcomings of their team. Igor does not. Period. He wants to run his euro-ball motion offense which does not suit this team.
This roster has lots of holes in it and The talent we do have have a long way to go before they are gonna be able to compete every night, but the way some of y'all refuse to criticize Igor when he has been far from good thus far is really bizarre to me.

I've just never been much of an armchair qb period, much less when it comes to a guy early in his first year taking what was by far the worst team, with huge roster turnover and only a handful of good players, two of which are rookies and no PG. I didn't expect us to immediately turn it around. I like what he's gotten out of Bridges so far though and am impressed with Ayton and Booker being better at moving the ball than they were. I knew Booker was unlikely to play D regardless and same with Ayton on the rim protection.
No I don't think Igor has been perfect but I don't think anyone would have been perfect with this group. It's like trying to put together a puzzle with only 50-70% of the pieces.
And just saw this from an earlier post...

You do know the guy has been an NBA assistant for the last 18 years right?
