We have had four different coaching staffs in five years. We havent had a stable system for players to develop.

-That was Len's excuse. One quick look at his game log and you can see that he is still Mr. inconsistent even as a starting center.

-Archie complained and he is out of the league.

-Chriss complained and he can't even see the court in Houston and got his option declined.

How bout most of the players we've drafted were trash? I cant think of anyone playing meaningful minutes somewhere that we've drafted recently.

If you are going to mock me, at least get what I wrote correctly. No need to mock something you made up in your head, unless you were really mocking yourself.

Both Booker and TJ had their skillsets of scoring before they came to us. TJ worked on his outside shot over the summer, and has improved his game each offseason. These are not skills we developed. Now if we had a guy who couldnt shoot because of bad form, and we worked with them throughout the year and their shot developed, then thats an example. Big men take more time to develop.

I dont think Bender is trash. I think he needs more time to develop. We havent had a consistent system for young players to develop properly. I think if SA drafted Bender and/or Jackson, we would see different developments of those guys.

OK. Its about Bender and Jackson. So let's talk about those two.

Bender has had plenty of minutes. He regressed totally over this summer. Bender has had lots of options. Lesson for us here? If you are going to draft an 18 year old at #4, he should probably be less of a project and more of a sure thing. After all, you will have to decide about his option before his 21st birthday.

Jackson. JJ is actually in the perfect role for his development right now. He is getting significant minutes while not being just gifted minutes as a starter. He is playing behind others who are flat out better than him at the moment. He gets to play against the other team's second stringers which should help with his confidence.

Yeah, McD certainly didn't do well with those top 5 picks, or top 8 picks. Man what a waste of sitting people down the stretch pissing them off and having to watch crappy end of seasons. Hopefully we have better scouts and someone much better with the draft....JJ or not.

Yeah, had I know we would give up on Bender after 2 years, I never would have advocated drafting him. I would have given him 4 years. It was obvious he was very raw and would need time to develop.

Bender had a change in coach each year he has been with us. It may depend on which coach he may have clicked well with, or even an assistant coach. Honestly, I would really have liked to see what he may have become if we hired Kukoc as an assistant coach to specifically work with him. Bender has a higher Bball IQ, he just seems to lack aggression.

Jackson to me seems a bit lower BBall IQ. He seemed to thrive more when he could rely on his athletic ability.

Drafting is a crap shoot though, especially when these guys only get one college season. However, if you have a solid system in place, with a seasoned coach, its easier for these young players to develop good habits, and know their roles.

Besides coaching, we have lacked a floor general. Our pg rotation has sucked save Hornasec's first season, which was TJ's first season. TJ also had a hustle example in Tucker.

It is tough to narrow it all down, each player is an individual. Some skills translate well to the NBA, and some players take longer to develop.

Seems like the biggest reason last season was so terrible and Tyson gave up was sitting him and Bled the year before when they were healthy, then doing again. Vets aren't really going to want to come here if it keeps happening.

I like the outcome of the Holmes trade. I was skeptical about the Bridges trade at first but I think its a winner now. Makes me want to trade for Fultz as I think there might be a theme.
