We only win games when our opposition have horrific shooting nights

They did shoot poorly, but the Suns played probably their best defense of the season tonight.

combination of the two. But if the mavs shot well, their heads would start to hang n that defensive intensity would've dropped n we would've been blown out. So we caught a break, hopefully it's something they can build on.

How was Ayton? Statline doesn't look pretty but I hope he was being useful out there.

Played well defensively. Offensively he was rushing everything, almost as if he was extremely excited about playing in a nationally televised game which caused him to miss shots that he should have otherwise made. Seriously liked watching him play defensively though, because earlier in the season he would just stand and watch, this game he was causing problems in the paint. Others might disagree, probably being overlooked by how well Holmes played.

I think he was afraid of the Jordan block party that might happen. Rushed everything.

If you play solid, energetic defense, you are going to get wins.

Um. Energetic D usually means turnovers and missed shots. The two things go together. Those turnovers were not all unforced.

Doncic is fun to watch. He doesn't get rushed. Clever. Strong body. Unselfish. Can shoot. A very nice player.

It's true. Mikal, JJ and Trevor all deserve a ton of credit. De'Anthony Melton also deserves a lot of credit for playing physical, scrappy defense and hustling after loose balls: it is because of this that even when he has bad shooting nights, he's the best PG we've had this season overall - and IMO, it's not even close.

Also, I'm sure the scouts liked what they saw out of Trevor last night. :) Let trade season commence!

Just watched the replay of the game. I was right that the Suns will win :D .. But oh boy Mavs shot themselves out of the game. Haven't seen such poor shooting performance in a long time. Lucky break for the Suns, but W is a W :)

Holmes & Crawford were amazing down the line while TJ provided offense early on and even JJ wasn't completely useless.. Was weird that Ayton didn't post up more and just settled for jumpshots.

On the Mavs side, probably nothing to add... Luka made great effort with his passing game, but that was pretty much it, they missed everything anyway.

Great win for our young team. They deserve it.

We're not as bad as our record states and the Mavs are not as good as their record reflects.

We've got some promising players. The future is bright.

Fun game to watch. I thought it might be another ref give away game, but we made our shots. Well one thing is for sure, our guys are getting better at 5 on 8. Warren literally gets fouled two to three times on every drive.

But I am glad Cuban still is allowed to yell at refs all game, because if Sarver does it, they give the game or series to the opposing teams. This league sucks!

Hopefully his name is stopped from being mentioned in trade scenarios unless it’s for a superstar.

Warren is my favorite player behind Booker. Ayton/Bridges making their way up the list.

I'm excited for this team without Sarver.

As I said earlier

I'm over the high tempo offense and freelance chaotic offense as well

Rather have a terror defensive team.... A team that wears you down full court 48 minutes of game time a night.

Defense!
