I can see how it can be perceived as taunting, and respect the ruling- but if you're gonna talk trash, you should be ready to get served.
If our fanbase was to insult other teams in a gamethread and we end up losing- I wouldn't expect any less from fans of the opposing team. And as long as they keep it civil, I hope our mods here would grant more leeway...

Yeah, same sillyness happened with me. I thought a little gamesmanship with something as meaningless as basketball games that we watch, would n should be no big deal.

my comment-

Sons fan here, I'd favor you guys tonight, by about 12 pts if you had Morris, he kills us. But without, 6 pts, so we've got a chance to win 4 straight ba-bay! Haha

one of the responses-

This will surely age well

my response after we win-

4 in a row ba-bay! how's that aging for you!

Suspended when I signed in a bit later. It was literally using the response I got to hit back in a fun way. Hell I called myself a "sons" fan n was poking fun about possibly winning 4 in a row. I didn't know these were the ganglands of realgm, where's there's no treading on others turf. Especially in consideration of something so benign, nobodies family was brought into the mix haha.

Hell, I made a comment on the washington board about their thoughts on john wall n trade since they were talking about both at the time, n a white knight comes trotting in from our board n says I'm trolling them. I was doing nothing of the sort. I don't mind if someone comes from another teams board n wants to know our perspective on something, and just because that person has a negative view of something doesn't mean anything. They don't have to have a positive perspective on whatever the question is to be deemed an appropriate question. What is with the sensitivity, it's just basketball. Anybody who has a staunch sense of blind unreasonable loyalty to where it's high treason to have a negative view on their beloved team or player needs to really take a long look at themselves and ask if they're really being reasonable about the situation.

It really depends on the forum. Also maybe the timing. If people are highly emotional over the loss and someone pops in to say something like that....(though it appears you didn't quote the guy and just popped in with that comment later so no one probably remembered the response you got to your first post)....I'm sure someone was probably pissed and probably reported it...actually it appears that's what happened looking at it.

But a number of people from the Boston and Toronto fans have trolled each other's boards after and during games so they have had big problems there....so both of those forums are probably pretty tired of seeing fans come over and rub it in after a loss.

But I imagine if a Lakers fan popped into our game thread after they beat us in a game that was tight throughout most of it, the post would get reported as well. We wouldn't suspend though unless someone did it more than once and it was bad.

Honestly it's very weak. Even if they forgot about the post or whatever, it was still very benign n harmless.

Even with what you said, I still can't be with you on it man. We're supposed to be adults here, (at least the ones suspending, etc) and to suspend over that is extremely, soft.

If a Lakers fan came in n said something after we lost a close game, in the playoffs even, I don't even think it'd be a blip on my radar, much less drag an emotional response out of me. Like I said it's only basketball games that we watch, if you're taking extremely light comments like mine to the point of giving me a "time out" haha, you really need to reassess your priorities. The whole thing has all the elements of a joke really.

I'm not saying we do it here...I'm just letting people know that it can happen on other forums. I agree I wouldn't have suspended for something like that, but some people would assume a Lakers fan that never posts here who pops in after a game to rub it in was trolling, and I mean, why else would he pop in? Users would probably respond to him and he's probably leave though, so it wouldn't be a big deal.

I know you weren't saying that. And I know the internet has the dirty all encompassing word- "trolling", but little things like that I just see as a bit of gamesmanship or playing around. Most of it's in good fun. Now if someone was flooding the board just to be a jackass, and has been warned, but will not stop, and it's affecting the rest of the boards posting, then yes, suspend away.

And to your point, you say you wouldn't suspend over something small like that, which I'm sure we both see as a no brainer. But the others that don't, probably shouldn't even have the position of board moderator. Not everyone is even keeled enough to do it. Anyway, no big deal in the end, there's always going to be a Gestapo anywhere you go.

When you go to other boards for 'gamemanship' that's on you. As mods, I would advise you not to do it because we don't know how other mods on other boards would take it. I don't want our fans to get suspended or banned over what you think is innocent but they think is trolling or gloating. So the best policy is just not to do it.

Even on our boards, if an LA fan came here to troll after a meaningless win, I wouldn't be very happy with it and I definitely would have less tolerance for it. At the same time, by suspending them or warning them, we're protecting our own posters from breaking the rules to retaliation. I don't want to see that.

Their mods were talking **** about all suns fans so saying anything over there would probably get you in trouble.

That said, the only thing worse than the city of Boston is the people from there.

Yeah exactly. Even the moderator of that forum SmartGoesCrazy or something like that made a post talking about how people in Arizona assault women or something. Like some stupid crazy **** like that without any evidence or nothing.

Boston fans are the worst in America. I went to a Patriots/Chargers playoff game in NE and those fans are just disgusting. I literally saw women get mocked and saw many racial insults tossed around.

Their lucky it wasn’t now because if it was now then I’m sure someone would’ve recorded it and put it up on Twitter and they likely lose their job the next day.

While I disagree with some of your post, I think this was a conversation that needed to happen out loud for the board. Quick triggers are abound and we just need to stay off the other boards during opposing games if we want to stay active on this board. While on the subjects consequent reactions, I still say, listen to Kobe, It just is what it is.
