Sadly, JJ doesn't seem to be any better. Gifting players to the Lakers/Lebron. Cutting loose expiring contracts. Unable to get a point guard or power forward. The whole Dillion Brooks, Marshawn Brooks thing  Oubre trade was okay but let's remember that was his 2nd choice for a deal.

I think jj is getting better, just very slowly. His erratic play needs to be harnessed. He's got that Gerald Wallace to game that's tricky in it's fine line of effectiveness.

He is referring to James Jones, not Josh Jackson....

Oh, haha, reading it real quick on the phone.

No, just call it like I see it. But I always like to give any coach a minimum of two years and am not one of those armchair QBs questioning everything a coach does because I'm not there and don't have all the details. On the surface, he's the best we've had with what he's been for the 7 years, other than maybe Hornacek in his first year before the team was torn apart. I like the player development I've seen. Ayton has come along a lot more than I expected, as have the other rookies for the most part...Booker has upped his game in many areas, people playing more scrappy on D as the season has gone on, etc.

We were predicted to be one of the worst teams, and that was before all the roster turnover and injuries.

I also may tend to defend those I feel are unfairly piled on (often times because of false or misleading media) being that I watch games and analyze numbers so I have all the information. And then get a little tired of those who are way overhyped related to their production....the herd mentality can be a little tiring for me.

In the other thread - the main speculation one, LilFishi I believe talked about the number of years of experience on this team compared to the Thunder team with a rookie Westbrook, a second year Durant and maybe a third year Jeff Greene - they had 82 years. This Suns team with Anderson (10) and Crawford (18) is at like 56.

I give Igor another year. As for Pop - I think he understands what the Suns are going through and respects the game and process.

That has been said so many times before. I remember pretty well to Earl Watson talking about that too. And yeah, Watson was a great coach (like it was Porter or Hornacek) if anyone wants to give credit to what Popovic says about every other coach in the league.

We are young NOW because we were pretty bad since the beginning of the season.

How would be our average age on the roster if you count Ariza, Chandler and Canaan?

They have replaced them with youngsters who are cheaper to give us that feeling on going up for the future, just that.

Ariza packed it in basically 5 games into the season after a nice first couple of games. Canaan nobody liked because he was limited in who he was (even if he had more experience than Melkobo) and Chandler....is well past his prime.

The problem is that just as Booker and TJ (our two best players before this season) started to get good, the tank just got warmed up. We brought in a rebuilding 'coach' who was a HC in name only and taught our guys nothing in the way of an offensive schemes, developing the youth in any way, shape or form and we were sitting experienced players to let our young guys run aimlessly.

This is what the pro-tankers called for. "Why play the vets when we're tanking, just play the young guys" - I recall a lot of this over the past few seasons. And people wonder why we don't win games....   no one here knows HOW to win because all they've known is how to lose in tanking efforts. Booker and TJ were developed in a tanking environment. When your two best players only experienced losing and were set up to fail (for the tank), its not hard to see why they haven't been contributing to wins.

Igor is basically coming in and trying to turn this tank around.
