I love everything Crowder brings to this team, except this. He’s not Steph Curry... Seemed like he had scaled them back the last few games. Not sure how much to read into this one, but if he keeps doing it we definitely can’t move him back into the starting lineup

I feel like he's screwing around more lately since we are winning. Crowder definitely looked better his first dozen of games where I just checked as he attempted 6-7 threes a game and his highest in that stretch was 9. Forward next 11 games and his highest three point attempts (10, 11, 13 & 13 again) in 4 separate games. Once we need Crowder to be Crowder he'll play much better but for now it's all fun & games for him. Just my opinion even if it sounds ridiculous.

First dozen or so games he was starting, playing in more meaningful minutes where he couldnt just take the chance of launching up a 3 whenever he felt like it. In the starting 5 he was like the 4th best scoring option so he had to be very selective. Now he's coming in and playing heavy minutes in pseudo-garbage time with guys that shoot right around his same level.

Ahhh, that makes a ton of sense now. Good explanation.

Sounds almost like the statements made when a player gets arrested or something. The fact he mentioned that the "Team will make an announcement" and he "Not wanting to speak for him" is one of those things that sounds like they are giving the player an opportunity to make a statement before the team says their statement. If its just him going to the G-League than Monty really went out of his way to make it sound much much much much worse than it actually is.

With Davis being out, the Jazz having a difficult schedule coming up, and the Clippers and Jazz facing eachother back to back soon - the suns should definitely be eyeing moving into the top three in the west. There's blood in the water right now.

I think this was the first time this season I turned the game off before halftime. I'm always itching to watch a suns game, but I was that confident in the win and Magic were missing literally half of their roster.

I thought it was fishy how long it took him to get back to the team the first time from covid. And thats IF he even had covid. Covid is now the easiest excuse for being absent.

Hope you guys are right, and I could definitely chalk up the Orlando game to this. But when we were playing bad he was starting and doing the same thing...then he seemed to stop when we started playing better, and the two things didn’t seem like a coincidence (benching Jevon Jacker helped too). Just hope it doesn’t remain a pattern with him. He seems like a good driver and he’s a very good passer, I’d like to see him strike a balance between doing those things and taking open, rhythm 3s. A Crowder doing that is really really valuable. Getting 3-4 FT attempts per night out of him would really help the collective team deficiency we have there

I think Crowder is still trying to figure out his exact role a little bit. Probably due to the shift from starter to bench and then the different lineup combinations we've had.

As a starter, he was supposed to be more of a 3-D stretch big and conserve his energy to play long stretches and big minutes. Now, as a bench player, he's required to be more of an energy guy, because he's only going to get 18-22 minutes a night, and he's often brought in when we're looking for a momentum swing.

To me, that seems to be WHY he's turned into a bit of a chucker, he's looking for those big shots that swing momentum. I think as a coach, I'd tell him to try to make that momentum happen on the defensive end and on the glass like he did in the Milwaukee game and let the shooting come to him. I don't mind if he shoots when he's open, but I think we need to get his 3pt attempts down to around 6 per game.
