It's insane to hear people talk about benching him in favor of Dario, who Per36 averages 7.8rpg (Ayton's Per 36 is 13.1). But wait guys, Dario is 6'10", so shouldn't rebounds just fall on his head? or are you telling me that Ayton's one additional inch of height accounts for 6 extra rebounds per36?
Could Ayton be a better player? Yes, particularly on the offensive end where he is yet to find a go to way of getting consistent scoring.
Does Ayton being our starting C give us the best chance to win? Yes. End of.
I get being salty about the untapped potential because he's got plenty of it, but to hear some of you on here you'd think Ayton was Jake Tsakilidis.
It is amazing that Ayton is the only one with rebounds falling on his head but Saric doesn't when he's in. His 4 rebounds are fine....he can't even jump or fight for them but he's doing fine while Ayton, among league leaders in rebounding, contested rebounds and offensive rebounds is not relevant since a couple guys who sound like broken records whether he gets 20 boards or 4 don't seem to care what happens in games, but will repeat the same thing ad nauseum.
But Keith blames anyone....thinks Book sucks too, etc, so take is opinions with a very small grain of salt.
