Isn't he banned yet? Why isn't he banned yet? I thought your goal was to get banned MVF? Can't you even get that right?

Re: Jokic & Denver Fans
Big deal. Players get frustrated. Booker has been tossed. I don't think it was intentional to really hurt him but he was frustrated. And he apologized. Fans chanting MVP as their MVP's season has just ended...what's wrong with that? Good fans backing their star....I doubt for 95% of them it was because he fouled Payne, but knew his season was over and felt for him and wanted to give him support as he disappointedly had to leave.

Ironically I think the game was closer after he got tossed because it fired the nuggets up.
I actually didnt want him to get ejected because I knew it would be a talking point, but watching the replay it was obviously going to be the call. You can't do that these days.
I mean, Book got an F2 in the lakers series for a gentle push to a player in the air - this was an elimination game and whatever else but refs have to call it how they see it, not based on the state of the game. Its Jokic that should consider the circumstances and not be so rash.
He said himself he was trying to do a hard foul, and in doing so hit Payne clearly in the face. For what its worth, these days, even in rugby, thats a red card and a send off.

But officer, I didn't mean to shoot him. Stupid arguement. He did it, I do wish it was a F1 but with his first tech against Book, wouldn't a F1 have gotten him ejected anyway? (serious question) Besides, it's not like he had a huge impact in the first three games and their production was better with him off the court.

I think in retrospect, everyone wishes it was just a F1. I think it was a bit tough for a F2 but it is what it is. If he didn't have such massive wind up or the post-incident altercation with Booker, I think it would've just been a F1. The fact that he wound so far back, made contact with Cam above the shoulder and just walked away without checking up on Cam to get into it with Book just added to the unnecessary and excessiveness.

Yeah, I was going to say the same. I think they played harder after Jokic left. Sometimes that energizes the team, and it did. No guarantee and it's probably actually unlikely they play any better had he not gotten ejected.

Not sure you should be calling out other fanbases when you're trying to meet up with people from the main board lol

Re: Jokic & Denver Fans
Nothing but love for Jokic and the nuggets fans. Even cheap shot homeboy. He got all his karma from sunsin4. It’s all square. Denver fans showed class as did the nuggets.
If anything there was a couple cringy suns fans moments in Denver where we reminded me of Lakers fans in Phoenix. (Not to take away from the amazing fans that traveled and represented with class. I have no problem with cheering and chanting. But once we sweep them, I’m showing respect, personally speaking.
Once we get the w I shake hands and say good job.

This sums up how I feel on this. Jokic is one of the classiest superstar players in this league. Probably has the least amount of ego that any top 8 player has had since maybe prime Duncan or Dirk.

I did wonder that too. Jokic and Booker got a tech for the push and shove. Then Jokic getting the flagrant 1 meant he gets ejected anyway.
Does anyone know how it works?

I don't think they actually T'd up Jokic, I think the double T was only a guess by the announcer. I never saw any of the refs show T during that scuffle and I think it was assessed to Book after the fact.

He did it, and the manner in which he did it, garnered a flagrant 2. It is what it is, he had to think that he would make some contact with Cam, coming over his shoulder. He also had to know, that any contact would cause damage. It did. So according to the rules its a flagrant 2.

Re: Jokic & Denver Fans
And those of you thinking the fans chanted MVP when Jokic was leaving the court as a farewell to a season, might want to check the tape again. They started chanting it while Jokic has the confrontation with Booker, and Cam is still on the ground injured. The play hadn't even been reviewed yet, nor had any penalty been assessed. It wasn't after he shock Cam's hand. It was a classless chant, as if they were proud of what he just did, and how he went into Booker.
Jokic is not a stupid man, he had to know that that swing would cause damage if connected, and he clearly thought it would be a hard foul.
