I would lean towards a yes but not as much as last season's bubble champion Lakers since there was no travel involved at the bubble and no home court advantage.
Couldn't care less. Every season, a narrative could be written and an asterisk could be justified.
People talk for a season or two but a championship is forever
I agree.
Last season would have been a tough one had the Suns won it simply because under normal circumstances, we shouldn't have had a chance at the playoffs.
But this season?
Only 10 less games than normal.
For context, in '99, there were only 50 if I recall correctly (strike shortened season).
Nobody looks back and says that Spurs team didn't really win.
I look at it like this... Does this season feel real to everyone here? Are you feeling the emotions about being 8 wins away from our first NBA title? Because that's real. And if we win, there will be a championship ring with the Phoenix Suns logo on it.
Some will put an asterisk on it but it's not the oddest NBA season.
Totally honest, I feel closer to accepting the 8 wins in the Bubble than being 8 wins away from a championship.
I still have that "emotional trauma" from those 19 win seasons that I feel like we're 8-8 early in the season and thinking, ahhh yes this is where it all starts to unravel because CP3 is too old, Booker is trying to be Kobe, Ayton still getting caught in no-mans-land, Bridges still can't hit 3's, Crowder can't defend 4's and Bubble Cam was a Bubble only thing.
Like it's only now that I've totally accepted that we won all 8 games in the bubble to give ourselves a chance at the playoffs last season. For so long, I couldn't even imagine this Suns team putting together 8 wins so for that to happen, it really took me a bloody long time to take it in. So for us to be 8 wins away from a championship, it just doesn't feel real at all. It doesn't even feel real that we put away Lakers with Lebron James let alone having the second best record all season long and arguably being the best team so far in the playoffs
