You're only as good as your last game. Three different sports channels were being displayed at the gym this morning. All of them were just Bucks/Bucks/Bucks (how amazing) with a smattering of what's wrong with CP3.
All the talk until Saturday will be how the pressure is now only on the Suns and how immense it's gotta be.

The Suns were up into most of the 4th while on the road with CP3 and Bridges being **** and Booker in foul trouble. This is not a team being dominated or decimated by the opposition. I still feel good about their chances. The Bucks are really good but so are the Suns.

Mikal bites on Middletons pump fake then KM drives around him... Bridges has trouble with quick players. He’s still the best we have, match up wise. Not an excuse but this IS Mikal’s second yr.....

He also has to deal with Giannis’ subtle moving screens. Look at the buck’s play when it was 99 -99... clearly a moving screen that lead to a Middleton jumper. NBA needs to tighten that weakass shittt up. If I had to rate it, Giannis has benefitted more from the refs than anyone.

Water under the bridge now.

Moving screens coupled with him getting the exaggerated superstar treatment of getting to the line at will when someone breathes on him or even lays a finger incidentally on him when going for a block or steal or bodying him up

Agreed on both points. Mikal is not good defending quick players and is too predictable going always over screens. As for Giannis, he's a different player in FIBA without all the jumping into your defender calls and real zone defense.

Sending us to the GB??? I dunno if that makes you a good mod or a bad one.

As long as it's not trolling or constantly pointing out foul discrepancy it is probably a good thing for legit arguments to go there. Not saying foul discrepancy isn't legit but constantly pointing that in over and over in the thread puts the fanbase in a bad light overall...especially when you see stuff like the Booker non call or calls at the end which they will come back with.

Let me preface this by sayng the Suns lost because of turnovers, the bucks getting second chance baskets and having 20 more shot attempts... the Suns kept the Bucks in the game by not giving themselves shot attempts with bad turnovers and to the Bucks credit, they also created more scoring chances. Everybody talks about the Giannis block as the key play of the game - I think it was the three (Middleton maybe) when it was 85-76 that cut it back to 6 after the Suns made it 9.

that said, I would gather on at least 50% of the screens Giannis set last night, he hip checked the guy he was screening for. you say it was subtle - I seemed to notice it quite a bit

As for guarding Giannis - I am not sure how too. He is able to do things to the defender that the defender cannot do to him. And if Jrue and PJ can hand check - thats another thing. But its 2-2, home court game, move on and play better.

Every. ****. Possession. Refs are literally standing directly next to him doing it. Doesn't matter how good you can be defensively when the other team is allowed to play by a different rulebook. Ayton gets called for that 100 times out of 100.

Agreed on both points. Mikal is not good defending quick players and is too predictable going always over screens. As for Giannis, he's a different player in FIBA without all the jumping into your defender calls and real zone defense.

Middleton isn't exactly quick. He's a little shifty but he's not quick. The bigger issue is Mikal has issues guarding guys who uses screens well and honestly, that's not really an exclusively Mikal Bridges issue. The elite guards in today's game are those who uses the screen well to free themselves up. Watch Steph for example, he's not an elite scorer because he's quick, he's quick enough but he gets open because he uses screens well. Middleton has solid handles and uses the Giannis screen well to get himself in a position to become a triple threat. Once Mikal gets caught in that screen, it becomes a 2 on 1 with Ayton having to cover both guys and Middleton is smart enough and a good enough shooter/passer to be really dangerous, especially when he has Giannis rolling too.

You have to wonder whether you mix up the defense on the screen. Go over sometimes, go under other times or just show. Refs aren't calling subtle moving screens and if you continually get killed on those screens then you have to change it up or at the very least, mix it up.

Hadn't even seen Sreekar's. I was just rewatching seeing it posted on GB and suddenly noticed him..head down then Monty says head down and then he gets up and starts shaking his head and then nodding and then at the end he's doing all that with his hands. Hilarious.

Can we talk about Mikal? He's someone who has avoided any real criticism I've noticed. I appreciate his game 2 performance but otherwise he hasn't scores anything in this series, while getting absolutely COOKED by Mids on the other side. He's supposed to be our best defender and most versatile guy and someone who a lot posters here have no problems paying max $$$ to.

His crap defense has personally lost us this game, yet somehow he avoids the same level verbose that Book gets and Chris/DA will get over the next 2 days.

I wouldn't pay him the max personally. I want an elite two-way wing next to Booker not a role player who pretends to be more than that

He won't get near max...I don't know why people think he will.

He has been up and down offensively like anyone else. He scored 41 in the first two games and 27 in one of them. He has shot 57% in the last 3 games.

The last 2 he hasn't scored much but he hasn't gotten a lot of shots. He has actually shot 62.5% in them. He is well guarded since he is our best 3 pt shooter of starters and his elite cutting ability.

Defensively he usually gets the toughest assignment so it typically comes down to making it tougher on guys. All star players don't get shut down. We may throw another guy on him on a switch and he may miss but that doesn't mean much. I don't think any coach or analyst would tell you he's not an elite defender....just some hot takes here and there after games.

Monty doesn't give him the toughest assignment, Zach Lowe and Kevin O'Connor don't write about him and he doesn't miss the All defensive team by 4 votes because he isn't elite.

The only wings who finished ahead of him in all nba defensive voting are Butler, Kawhi and Thybulle, unless you consider Giannis a wing. Which of those guys do you think we can get? Thybulle scores 4 ppg....not a 3&D guy unless you like 30% 3 pt shooting.

These are ridiculous hot takes.

No they are not. He shows up once a week or once a month. He is very over rated. He is a ghost on most nights.

Bridges will shoot a 3 if he's open, pass it if someone else is open and he's not, and if there is no one else wide open (which he will know when he gets the ball) he will immediately drive and pull up or take it to the rim (or possibly pass to someone wide open while driving if the rim isn't open).

He never holds the ball which I think is what Monty wants with his .5 offense. I think him, Crowder and the Cams all do this fairly well..though Payne will dribble for a while sometimes, but he is usually one of the primary ball handlers too..but still will take an open 3 or drive to rim if either is open.

Just checking in.
Got on suns Instagram with a buddy and Mr orng before game 4. Not sure how to post it.
Was at this game. Super frustrating and tense. Loudest NBA game I've ever been at. Suns fans better being it tomorrow.

I still feel good. We let it slip but will fight back
