Payne, Craig, Biyumbo - all very nice additions in midseason. Jones deserves recognition for bringing a star player in CP3, drafting and bringing cheap role players is good as well. Imagine having an owner willing to spend.

I argue it takes more skill to go moneyball in a star-dominated league such as the NBA. it's almost like Jones is GM of the year for a reason.

Just finished watching. Great game, great hustle! Team seems to be back on track right now. After that few lackluster games, the guys seemed to have learnt from the devastating Boston loss and started each game with the right mindset from start to finish despite beeing shorthanded. I have a much better feeling now, than just a few days ago. Hope Covid doesn´t affect us too much, but I see it as every normal NBA Season: Basketball is a injury heavy sport and you have to overcome injuries every year in the course of the season. If it is Covid or an injury doesn´t matter. But it does matter, how you deal with it! And the team seems to have understand that.

Btw. Bismack hast to stay! :-) Great guy!

That being said, he's right. It'd be nice not having a cheap owner. We're gonna have big checks that need to written to Cam Jo, Ayton and a cpl others. Not sure I have faith that $arver will be the one to write them......

Big win, the Pelicans played a very good game and was a tough opponent but we could find a way to get that W.

First and foremost...Book is a killer. He played a fantastic game and put a huge pressure on the Pelicans defense all the time.

Mikal with a tremendous game on both sides. He dealt with Ingram on defense, and did a nice job forcing him to difficult shots. And he was deadly from three and gave us a lot of options on offense.

CP3 played perfectly as a floor general. 15 assists, big shots and good defense. The guy is ageless.

Cam Johnson with ANOTHER very good game. His 3p percentage is ridiculous, he is already one of the best 3p shooters in the league.

Jalen Smith with 12/5/2 in just 16 minutes. He had problems with Valanciunas, but that was expected. Good to see two 3p mades from him.

Biyombo was a key factor to win this game. He helped us a lot in the pick&roll and protecting the rim. He had a couple of outstanding plays, his highlights are amazing.

Biyombo needs to get a guaranteed contract. No need to overthink it, he is perfect for us and he is cheap. Just sign him.

Jones needs to pull another rabbit out of his hat to find a Payton replacement. The guy is pure trash.

It's weird because I thought we signed Jackson last week. Guess that was false news

I had just saw the wiretap today.

No, you were 100% right.
It was reported last week but as was mentioned, it might have been more of giving Jackson a heads up that he's on deck if we need to sign someone. Or it just never happened. Payton was in and out of protocol twice last week so that's what they likely thought he would be needed for.
But once Shamet went down, it was a no brainer.

He just has to be careful. Payton as a 3rd string on a vet min, I'm not sure you'll find anyone better right now. He knows the systems by this point so it may be better to hang onto him and find a replacement for Shamet.

Plus we are using him wrong. We are using him as an off ball guard, and often he is sitting outside the three point line. I don't get this at all. It is exactly what we did wrong with Childress. Have a guy stand around the three point line that is zero threat from outside. :banghead:

That pass Payton made to Bridges cutting to the hoop was awesome. If we are running Payton with Payne, or even Paul, we should have Payton run point, and use Payne or Paul as the shooting guard because both of them are better shooters. Payton is a solid defender and rebounder. He isn't trash, just not used properly.

The block on Ingram?

Was that it? I thought the block on Igram was his 2nd and his last block came within a few minutes of the game. :-?

Just checked play by play it was when he blocked Hart's layup with 4 seconds remaining in 4th.

He blocked the final shot of the game at the buzzer
