Monty could easily counter this by playing Biyombo with McGee or Ayton and going big but he won’t do it. I just don’t understand it at all. What was the point of signing Biyombo if it isn’t to use him when getting dominated on the boards? It’s not like playing 2 bigs is gonna kill our spacing because news flash, we don’t have any spacing right now the way their playing either!
I know Suns had a lot of regular season success this season where it’s less about strategy and more just players outplaying others and injuries and covid making a difference too. But I think our playoff success for last season where there is actually strategy involved should be probably be credited more to Willie Green than Monty himself. Willie Green makes changes and adjustments on the fly while Monty prioritizes being “loyal” than winning playoff games.
I wish the Suns could’ve kept Willie Green as assistant for just one more season, he would’ve convinced Monty into actually using bigs to combat issues like rebounding.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of playing 2 bigs but if we can't hit 3s anyway, not as much downside. It might make it easier to double Ayton though given there would be a second defender down there.
