Even if he was putting up Rondo FT%, I wouldn't care if he was running the team like Rondo. Talking about Goran's FT% now just seems like nitpicking in the grand scheme of things.

Agreed....

it should be noted to those infatuatedly obsessed :waaa: with his FT%, Goran went to the line 2 times a game last yr.

Yes... 2 times.

In 2 yrs, he has less than 270 attempts. A half a season for some.

He may get more minutes (up from 18) but to think he will change his game and become some kind of foul magnet is a hopeful assumption. If anything, the second unit has more balance offensively. His outside shot is his true weapon.... and like Nash, he drives to dish. He can get to the rim, but it seems by memory, often it was a blow by and not contested.

It is easy to over estimate Goran's contribution based on the last few games we saw of him...because it is impossible to get the intoxicating SanAntonio Massacre out of the mind. But I expect pretty much the same 18-20 mins from him, with improvement in the areas mentioned above by the fish.

He will have his days though, where he keeps Nash on the bench as his personal cheerleader. And at least he wont have Barbs draining the clock down then passing off to him him with less than 10 seconds left.

Goran's ability to get the whole second unit clicking together is his worth and focus. Thats his squad. Play hard D. push the ball, get it to the open man for a shot....

oh, and for christsakes .... make both of his free throws. :naaa:

Let me get this wrong:

First I have to wait 100 freethrows before I am allowed to dislike him shooting three for five. And now 270 isn't enough? Weren't you the one passing around purple and orange colored glasses just last year? Hypocrite!

Your rules for being a jerk seem less tough. :D But I am glad that you actually talked about the topic for once, but I wasn't over estimating his contribution, I was looking towards the future. Did you read my posts, or just glance at them? If you did read them, do you have trouble reading? :(

Who the heck is being fickle? This is the fifth time I have to say this, "I dislike his freethrow shooting percentage!" That is it, I am not complaining about him personally, just a stat I don't like. Because I had to further research it, it shows that he has gone down in that area. Why is it so bad to dislike a stat? I mean Frankie calls me an idiot, and now you are telling me to grow up? What is next?

By the way, we are paying him more than Lopez. So even though we got him in the second round, it cost us two second rounders (one of which was D Blair), $500,000, and the salary we are paying him. I am fine with that, because I like what he has been doing, but I would just like to see him around 80% if he is to be our next starting point guard. I have been following this team since 78-79, why can't I want more from a player?

I have seen guys make moronic threads and claims, and I am getting crap for disliking Goran shooting three for five?

Slovenija vs Lithuania happening right now..
Gogi with 13 after 23 minutes of the game, really playing great and really looking like he is from different planet..
Now, Jagodnih, Nachbar and Lakovič are also with the team..

Dragic was toying with Lithuania and really dominated the game when he was in. He had 5fouls though.

Was probably his most dominant performance in the preparation cycle and it is nice that it came against the strongest team we have played to date.

Dragic 21pts 7/9 for 2 and 1/2 for 3 FT 4/4 2 rbs 1 assist 3 stls in 19:58 minutes of play lol.

Now you could say what he fouled out in 20mins or you could be a glass half full guy and say he scored 21 pts in 20minuts on a very strong Lith team.

Thanks! I'm a half glass full kind of guy. Great game by Goran, wish I hadn't missed it. Did he seem more integrated into the team? He said he didn't really know the plays after China..

Its better, yeah. Still not where i would want him to be but the whole team is off still, which is to be expected as they are in the middle of their preparation cycle so no biggie.

Its a bad game to miss though if you are a Dragic fan because he was awesome, just dominant in every way, and at least 2 if not 3 fouls were BS fouls tbh.

Why is he only getting 21 minutes though? Is he not starting or is it just cause of international play?

Well today he fouled out :) But in previous games, and most probably in games to come he will get less minutes because the coach is probably trying to build team chemistry.

In international tournaments such as the WC, you need at least 10 or sometimes 12 guys to play at their best, as teams play a deadly schedule, for example the teams that make it to she semis play 9 games in 12 days, and those are all games where you need to play 120% and every ball counts so having a few good players playing good doesn't cut it.

I started watching after he was out. Were his fouls from gambling on defense? See he had 3 steals in only 20min, were they on the ball our was he over playing passing lanes?

Only thing I found was this:

http://www.basketballinspain.com/spain- ... edule.html

which tells me that Slovenia is playing Spain two times; on 8th of Aug at 20.00 CET in Spain and then again on 10th of Aug at 20:30 CET in Lbjuliana.
