Bledsoe
Dragic
Marcus
Kieff
Len
will be our future starting five. Scoring from Len is not needed yet. He needs to fine tune his defensive game first and the offense should come second. Will he be elite?? This season (4 games) per 36 minutes he is putting up 11.5 rbds and 3.7 blks. I would say we have an elite defender on our hands once he starts getting legit playing time.
IT
Green
Tucker
Tolliver
Plumlee
Make an impressive bench ... although so far Tolliver is a big question mark for me. So can we make a reasonable trade to improve the bench PF spot???

NavLDO wrote:lilfishi22 wrote:NavLDO wrote:I get what you are saying...I do. But what exactly are you looking for in this thread? "Hey, let's trade for a middling talent that won't move the needle one way or the other!" That's boring and useless. We need to be looking at top tier talent, or at least guys that have the potential to be top tier. That's why McD acquired all the pieces he has--it certainly wasn't to draft 8 rookies in three years and hope for the best.
ALl well and good but we don't have the assets to make a move for top tier talent as much as everyone wishes we did. What you're doing here is rosterbating.--Yep, and guess what, we're fans, not FO types, so it's in our nature to rosterbate in these types of threads. I know some fans would like to believe they are FO types, but fact of the matter is, we're not. So, if you or others desire to make trades like "Gerald Green for David West", or similar type of middling talents, then that's fine, but to me, what is that accomplishing--West ain't moving the needle! We have PLENTY of role players AND draft picks--we need one more All-Star, and we should be, and I can guarantee McD is, looking at a way to turn our assets into an All-Star.
I brought up Ibaka because OKC stinks without their top 2 players. And while they are only projected to be out 4-6 weeks, they are not going to walk in and be back at 100%. So, they very well could be well below .500 at the trade deadline. Ibaka is a dream scenario, sure, but it's not like I'm saying, "Hey, let's trade a 2nd Rd pick for Lebron!" The offer I pieced together would be fair, and allows them to "tank" for a year and have two lottery picks, Ennis and Goodwin, two young potential talents--overall, that's four guys potentially under 21 for Ibaka, and Plumlee thrown in for Perkins (as bad as Plumlee is, they get to erase Perkins).
The offer you made isn't close to being fair, it's downright laughable. You throw that same trade on the GB or on the OKC forum and you might even get accused of trolling. -- Good thing I didn't then, huh! That's why it's on our board, not the GB or Trades board. I've already admitted to that being in our best interest, not OKCs, BUT, it's not THAT far off, but yes, we'd have to throw in a starter-level at least--I agree--probably Dragic. Again--fan=rosterbating...got it! Sorry if I insulted you with the offer, I'll try to be more realistic next time, but what I was doing was trying to put together a trade, that gives OKC FUTURE talents, to allow them to tank this year, so if I added Dragic, that would be counterintuitive to the SPIRIT of the trade.
OKC are missing their two best players but they will both be back before the end of the year. You're assumption that they should tank for a year is off and so is your valuation of the talent/asset we're moving for a top tier big man.So, in my mind, these are the types of trades we should be proposing in here, TBH. Aiming high using the assets McD has accumulated, because he sure as heck isn't going to be looking at trading equal talent. He's going to be looking at trading quantity for quality.
We should be proposing realistic trades, not the trades we make in NBA2K. You're proposing homerun trades which turns us into contenders but they just aren't realistic. -- OK, then, I'll give up. Heaven forbid we try to aim high in a trade thread on OUR board. But as I mentioned earlier as well, I honestly think that outside of a homerun trade, we should just stay put throughout the season. We have young players and we need to see where these guys are at, and we need to give them a full season to prove themselves, and at the end of the season, sign Dragic and if Len doesn't look to be a budding superstar, look at ways of getting one in here. I have a feeling Kieff is on his way to being a top 10-12 PF in this league.
Great, now that you understand.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Two drink minimum
I said it before, but I seriously think Suns need to re-visit the Pacers offer.
The Hibbert for Dragic *Base* trade. (meaning Pacers will add more)
Dragic was an All-NBA teamer last year and his value is high, but if he continues to play sub-par along with Bledsoe and Thomas lighting it up, him being a FA and wanting money is an incentive for the Suns to make the move.
Hibbert has been a beast protecting the rim so far and if you give him that task primarily he will continue to thrive.
With 2 other point guards that need the ball in their hand, I dont think Dragic will replicate his numbers last season.
I think he will stay around 15-16ppg with 4-5 assists, which is fine if he accepts a 10-12 million dollar deal... but I think his starting price will be around the 15 million mark.
If Dragic is traded the Suns can then maybe resign Green to a MLE type money.
With Thomas, Bledsoe, Green at the guards.. there simply isnt enough shots and possesions for Dragic to replicate his numbers. Bledsoe, Thomas would have to back down and sacrifice, but these guys are the primary ball handlers with Dragic as a SG/PG type.
The Suns need a big man to man the middle whilst Len develops as a backup.... I think in a couple of season Len will be a 12/10/2.5 center..

Suns are not trading Dragic and another $8M in salaries for Hibbert.

I think Biyombo for Ennis and an asset. Bismack can still be developed.... already a shot blocker and rebounder, and is still young enough to be developed into more.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Two drink minimum
how do you guys feel about okafor and towns? if things go right and we somehow do get that sixth pick and minny pick, you think we'd have enough to trade up for one of those two guys?

We're simply not getting the Minny pick (top 12 protected pick this year and next)...but we could very well have our own pick at say? #10 to #13 to couple with the LAL number one to move up. Then again, with Sac & Utah moving up the charts, the Lakers pick is almost for sure floating into the future.

It does indeed look like the Laker's pick will be pushed to 2016, as of right now, and same with Minny's...BUT, back to my dreamland I live in...if we are able to score the LAL pick at say, #7, then snag the Minny pick at say, #13, and if we end up as the 9th seed again, and get the #14 pick, then we have:
1.7
1.13
1.14
Ennis (1.18)
Bogdan (1.27)
Will that be enough to move up to 2 or 3, say the Sixers? If Mudiay is already off the board, do the Sixers really want another big? Or would they be happy with the Oubre or Winslow at SF with the 1.7 pick, PLUS Ennis, rights to Bogdan, and two more lottery picks. Would we want to give all that up for Towns or Okafor, assuming Len is progressing well throughout the season?

I don't doubt LAL will make a run at these guys. They have nothing, outside of Randle, that Phoenix or Boston would want.
Suns will re-sign Dragic and trade him later if they decided he wouldn't be back.

That is not even sniffing elite... and thats his per 48 rebounds and blocks, not per 36. Plumlee hauls in boards at a higher rate and I dont think many would call him elite.
I got pretty damn excited when Len has his strong night against the Spurs but that one night has been about it from him so far that resembled a starting caliber player. He is putting up way too many goose eggs to be counted on right now. Last 5 games he is averaging 2.6 pts, 3.2 boards on 36% shooting. He still has a looooooong way to go.
