Damn it. That was who I was comparing Skal to for like an hour. His 3s and blocks kill Skal per 36 http://bkref.com/tiny/eapqg
but I kind of thought Thon might make it back to me for my next pick...Skal was ranked a little higher in some other places. I think Skal probably plays more min this year even though Thon will start. I will kick myself forever if Thon ends up the better pick.
This ranking almost flipped me over to Thon...72 in dynasty compared to 114 for Skal. https://thedynastyguru.com/2017/09/29/the-top-200-dynasty-basketball-rankings-october-2017/
I was all in on Skal until I dug into the numbers. Even the articles say they like Thon starting because they want to surround Giannis with 3 pt shooters and he's their best 3 pt shooting center.
Skal beats him in FG%, FT% and slightly in boards and steals. Thon looks like he could be a Serge type player though. Great pick.

Yeah, no doubt, i already know all that. I just thought he was already on someone else's team, but when i went deeeeeeep in the players list looking for guys that maybe got dropped, BAM, there he was. I think i kinda struck gold on him, specially since my team is full of Old Fogeys and Jamal Murray, lol.
I actually found him on the list about 20 minutes after i took Howard and was contemplating switching my pick (Since no one drafted yet). I figured maybe no one else knew he was there, and thats when i also saw Skal, so i figured if someone did take Thon, i could always grab Skal, so nice pick-up on that one!

Oh, I didn't see your second paragraph (maybe you edited) before I quoted to respond but was going to ask how you how pissed you would have been if I took Thon. I guess we both got who we wanted but now I am going to have to watch and second guess myself when no matter what happens, you had no choice and had to take who was left, so will never have to kick yourself.
I did figure that since I did have a few 3 pt shooters already and Gobert for blocks, maybe blocks wasn't as important, but I do hope Skal ups his 3s and blocks...there is really no reason he shouldn't. They shoot about the same % from 3 and Skal has a better FT%.

Yeah, i need his 3's. I did good in 3's last season (12points), but my main sources of 3's took major hits. Anderson is somehow in no-mans land in Houston, Ingles wasnt good enough to keep, and i had a few other guys that wernt "Keepers". So Thon should help in all the Cats i really need (3's/rebounds/blocks) and hopefully will get a few steals too!
