I know...I typed up a post (that I didn't post) while they were reviewing that it was in the cylinder...but could they treat it as a shot out of bounds? I guess they can't. So it makes the "in the cylinder" rule unclear although maybe the official rule indicates "messing with a "shot" in the cylinder".

There is not offensive goal tending on an inbound pass.

Crazy finish. I was watching without sound and I assumed it was going to be over ruled with an offensive goaltend. But you could be right that the rule might be different on an inbound.

Yeah, they just said as much on tv right after I typed that.

I can never recall seeing that "in the cylinder" play ever.

My question is- Why don't we see players just shooting for the basket from out of bounds at the end of quarters and at the end of games, when all you have to do is have another player touch it before it goes through the hoop?

EDIT: Heck! Why wait to do it when there's little time ...seems a decent play whenever.

It was a hell of a pass by bender.

I predict we're all going to see this out of bounds play more after this. Don't get why we haven't seen it plenty before.

Also nice to know Bender can hit 3s throwing it at the basket like that.

Didn't we beat the Grizz with a Grant Hill inbounds lob at the buzzer to J-Rich a few years back?

I guess you can't defensive goaltend either or it would be impossible to defend, but I'm sure very few players know that you could jump up and just swat a ball down above the rim on an inbound pass.

They do now.

The play took .2 seconds.

Just tell Klay or Steph or James Hardin etc. in a deparate "no time left" situation ..."Just try to make a three...we'll just have someone touch the ball before it goes through the hoop to make it legal"

Not an easy play, but I'd say better than any catch and shoot scenario if you have less than a half second left.

What an awesome game, really glad I went. That ending was nuts, I knew they couldn’t treat an inbounds pass as a shot so it wasn’t interference, but you never know when it comes to refs and the Suns. Beautiful pass from Bender too, that play doesn’t work unless the pass is perfect.

Since it’s not a shot attempt, the defense should put their best jumper on the inbound side, and just swat or catch the inbound before it even get to the player. That could be the first and last time we see that shot.

I may be a little more objective as im not a Suns fan and... he sucks. I was just thinking (and i really dont want to troll, just an observation) betwen Len, Bender, Jackson.. holy moly there are alot of wasted lottery picks on this roster. And i mean really wasted.

Sixers - Fultz, Noel, Okafor
Lakers - Ball, Russell
Kings - McLemore, Stauskus, Fox

There are plenty of teams that blow lottery picks, and 2 of the 3 you speak of, haven't even played a full season in the NBA, and neither can even go enjoy a beer together after the game at a drinking establishment...and you are ready to label them as busts, already? OK, bub.

Yet our 'bench' Center is still able to outperform all three of Toronto's Centers...

http://bkref.com/tiny/XIQQM

...in a multitude of areas such as Assts per game (yeah, those 'dumb' IQ guys, that's all they know how to do is feed other scorers) and PFs (funny, how low BBIQ, equates to low # of PF committed...oh, wait...)..anyway. plus other areas like TRB, FTr (so he not only commits fewer fouls, but also gets to the line at a clip of nearly 50% more often then his next closest competitor...yeah, another true indication of poor BBIQ).

Len also has a higher PER, TRB%, Asst%, and OWS than the other 3. That's just one 'dumb' bench Center against your entire Center core, which includes a recent top 9 selection and ALSO a Top 5 selection in Valanciunas. Well, how can that be???

Maybe, just maybe Len is better than advertised, and he has just been a product of poor management coaching by the Suns, and despite all of this, he's still pretty darn good, and finally coming into his own.

Or maybe, this is a case of poor F(Fan)BBIQ, since in a later post, you chose to point out our better prospects...Bender, Len, and Jackson...as being 'wasted' lotto picks, rather than the more likely true wasted pick of Chriss, but since you watched the ONE Sun's game this season he hasn't looked completely lost, you chose to leave him out of your expert analysis on how terrible the two 20 YOs, who have played a combined less amount of games than Chriss has, yet fail to mention Chriss. Oh that's right, Chriss had a good game...for once, this season... ...

Why's this Raptors dork hanging around the Suns forum? I know the Raptors are a boring as piss treadmill team, but come on. Gotta be better things to do with your time than kicking a fanbase when they're down. Or maybe not, you're just that pathetic.

Yup. Fans who watch every game their team plays cannot possibly be as objective as the out of town troll who watches one game and forms an opinion.

You should know that Nav!
