One thing i'm not entirely clear is where the dragic trade exception does and how it can come into play

I don't know. I never think of trade exceptions for under the cap teams. I only thought they were useful for over the cap teams so a team over the cap if they unloaded salary they could replace it even if they are over the cap. I'm not even sure why you get a trade exception when you are under the cap...maybe if you go over the cap then you can use it, but I don't think you can use it in a trade when another player is involved.

The trade exception can only be used in non simultaneous deals, meaning the exception can be used by only by itself to acquire one player, so for example packaging multiple players + the trade exception for Aldridge would not be allowed under the CBA. As I said in the other thread I think Dragic's trade exception needs to be renounced before signing Aldridge or it counts against the cap. But, I think the trade exception can be used before any potential signings to create a little extra cap by trading and subsequently waiving a player who makes up to 150% of the trade exception value (5.5 million in this case).

What the hell does this mean?

If he is implying the Suns did his brother wrong, he seriously needs to look in the mirror. The Morris twins have been such a pain in the a$$.

Markieff can be mad all he wants, bottom line is we brought that dude in, (Marcus) gave him the chance, and he blew it at every f****** turn causing b******* in locker room arguing with the coach seemingly trying to fight techs galore and now this fool is the main one who is the reason they get a felony assault charge ....he is the one who supposedly beat that dude up while Keef just held everyone back.... this f*** is a troublemaker if not for us he would probably be out of league.... but the fact that we brought him in paired him with his brother and made him a millionaire with the second contract we did that f*** of favor!

burning heart...is that you?

Guys

Talent wins championships. Period.

You need talented players to get you championships.

Markieff Morris has much more talent than PJ Tucker. If we can dump Tucker who's really quite pedestrian, we can sign another small forward!! we can resign Gerald Green I bet he would come back for the MidLevel exception as a 3 point specialist and occasional defender.

Sign and trade Tucker, McNeal, Leuer +2nd round pick to Dallas for Chandler.
Sign Aldridge Chandler Knight.
Over the cap. Sign Gerald Green at the MLE and Ish Smith/mo williams at backup PG

Bledsoe Smith/Williams
Knight Goodwin/Booker
Green/ Warren
Aldridge/Morris
Chandler/Len

That team is challenging for top 4 supremacy in the West with Golden State, Houston, Memphis and Los Angeles.

WE NEED ALL THE TALENT WE CAN GET.

OUR BIG MAN ROTATION WOULD BE NASTY.

It is 11:14 Pacific ST time and I'm going to bed, I will be up 8:30 EST, hopefully he would have committed to Phoenix, and if not, don't tell us until this weekend is over.......Don't want to be upset, because I have hope now......DAMN YOU LMA!!!!!

Ish Smith is terrible, he made 3 out of 77 three-pointers with us!

You're overvaluing P.J.

He is much more replaceable than Markieff

Big drop off between Markieff and Amar'e right now

We can find that glue guy, a hustle 3 and D guy isn't that crazy hard to find.

A super sub 6th man who can dominate 2nd units is.

Do we have Gerald Green Bird Rights?

He'd be the perfect sharp shooter off the bench back to playing 20-25 minutes as the 3rd guard.

I like PJ but I'd much rather keep Markieff and make him compliant with our new team minus marcus.

I'd prefer to keep both but obviously we can't

Idk he's a UFA not an RFA

I think he'd resign with us we helped get him back on track.

G GReen at 3 years 15-18M is fine.

Well it all depends on LMA...if we don't get him Markieff is more valuable, if we do, Tucker is.

McDonough has shipped out every player he inherited except Tucker and Morris.

I think the job is about to be completed.

would've been huge.

Having PJ Morris and Aldridge puts us potentially 1 more spot up in the west.

I don't think this is possible. Tucker + Mcneal + Leuer = 7.38 million. Draft picks do not have any salary attached to them in trades. 150% of this value (11.07 million) can be acquired from this trade, at a maximum. The Chandler deal is worth 52/4; taking account 4.5% salary raises his salary would start at 12.1 million. Goodwin or Booker would be need to thrown into the mix or Chandler would need to take about 5 million less overall.

"Aldridge is not expected to take any more meetings, so a decision should be coming sooner rather than later."
