I was thinking about this earlier too.
He's going to get verbally obliterated by the crowd.

He'll deserve it, too. But you just know that he is going to feed on it and use it as proof that he is the victim

Well now the front office have stated they have no intrerest in trading markieff I am 100% sure he is gone. Which is **** cuz i can see our line up meshing well and finally reaching the playoffs. However, it might be addition by subtraction who knows. If you would like to see kief gone again I urge you to donate so i can purchase a #11 suns jerseys. As an owner of a dragic suns, nash suns, granger pacers and rg3 washington jersey, once i make my purchase i give kief a month.

Lol, I generally have that kind of luck too. They need to invent Velcro letters for easy removal of past players.

Done. Im obligated to like the morris twins after making a bet with the missus when at a suns thunder game..she is highly likely to have twins so i made a bet that if the suns win (highly improbable with durant n westbrook playing) our twins middle names will be markieff n Marcus. Suns went on a run in the 4th n westbrook forgot he plays next to the MVP.

Did she have twins and are you really going to give them marcus and markieff for middle names? If you need Suns twins do Dick and Tom. At least they were respectable from what I know. Or if you don't need twins do Goran and Zoran.

Bled
Warren
Tucker
Len
Chandler

is a lineup I would be super interested in seeing, the spacing would be weird and I would never want Len playing as PF often, but just for sake of experimenting it would be funny to see. Knight will start of course in reality

Bled
Warren
Tucker
Mirza
Chandler

is probably more sustainable, with killer second unit of

Knight
Booker
Weems
Leur
Len

Markieff can go **** himself

He's shorter than I thought. I like his Suns cap; I can't tell who's white jersey he's wearing, though. It appears he's fumbling in his pocket for exact change, even.

Which will likely improve his value in two ways--one, potential for his court case to be resolved by then and two, potential exists for at least one starting PF in the league to have an injury. I would never wish an injury on anyone, I'm just stating that the likelihood exists.

But, yeah, I have no doubts that a few GMs have come a callin' with 'junk' trade options similar to what we are seeing on the Trades and Transactions forum, which I obviously, was unable to resist commenting on:

Spoiler:

Oof! You want PHX to take on $5.3M contract for yet a 3rd bench Stretch 4, and a 3rd string C and or a 30 YO Anti-Stretch 4, and a likely mid-20s draft pick in 2 years? This "package" for a starter-level 4?

I know many are acting like Kieff is a cancer, but he's ONLY a cancer to Phoenix. He'll plea-bargain his case for no jail time, so he'll likely, at worst, suffer a few games suspension. Kieff was just fine playing without his brother; in fact, he played better without Marcus on the team.

So the Wizards get a starting PF (albeit, probably better in 6th-man role), on a great contract for 4 years, and Suns get contracts that they'll look to dump at first availability, unless Webster has a career revival of some sort, and considering his back issues (3rd back surgery in his career) last year, that's not likely to happen.

If the Suns are to take on Webster and Humphries, the trade would need to be expanded in order to get back a player with potential...something like:

PHX In: Porter, Jr., Webster, Humphries
WAS In: Kieff, Leuer, Goodwin

Wizards saves $4M in this deal, get Kieff, who can also play some small-ball 5 from time to time, a bench stretch 4 in Leuer, and a potential guy in Goodwin, where the Suns get a PF they can rotate out with Teletovic in Humphries, and an up-and-comer in Porter as a small stretch 4 or 3, and Webster, depending on health, would essentially replace Leuer on the Bench.

I'm sure the reaction from Wizard fans would not be favorable to this, but I think it's more fair value than what was proposed with Webster, Blair, and a late 1st, still 2 years out.

Ultimately, though, this deal looks a lot better once Kieff's legal issues are done, and he tones down his rhetoric. And also, I doubt any GM trades for Kieff until then anyway.

I sympathize with your stance. Markieff is a legit rotation-caliber player in this league on a decent contract and you want to get good value for him. More power to you if you can. I suspect that his trade value is much lower than you perceive it to be though. GM's are too concerned about their job security to take risks with headcases like Markieff.

I'm telling you what I would offer if I was running the Wizards. Feel free to decline it. Just understand that you will absolutely not be getting Porter or Oubre in the trade package. No way. No how. If you can do better shopping elsewhere, so be it. --

Understood. I wouldn't expect you, as a Wizard fan, to be any more willing to trade a solid rotation player anymore than a PHX fan would. But at least what I offered provided on-court value, and sorry, but in our system, Humphries does not, and unless Webster reverts to his former self, he doesn't either.

Bottom line--Kieff is a starter, at worst, a 6th man in this league, and Humphries is the best player you offer? Yes, McD would surely feel about excited about your offer that you did about mine, but again--starter for starter or, starter for non-starter, which is closer to correct value? The problem is, Kieff is an idiot (which is different than a head case--Lance Stephenson is a 'head case'), so neither of our offers is accurate, because you can't put a price on stupidity!
:banghead:

I'll also point out that Humphries is definitely not a bad contract. He costs just $4.6M, which is not bad for a rotation caliber big man who frankly isn't much worse than Markieff (though he is a few years older) -- Markieff is much closer in talent to Porter, than Humphries is to Kieff, though. Humphries also has a flexible player option next year.

-- And Kieff's on a great contract, still doesn't make you want to trade Porter for him anymore than I want to trade Kieff for a 'flexible player option'--a 3rd String player on a flexible player option is still a 3rd String player, and not very useful when coupled with another 3rd String Player, and a Late 1st; we already have 2 of those in Jefferson and Sims, why would we want another, especially one that is 30? But if packaged with an asset that actually has value, then it might be worth it. Blair is dead weight but he's an expiring contract.

All I did was add a very young developing Combo Guard, and a young Back-up PF to the Suns package going out, and swapped out the late 1st you offered with Porter, thus, making it at least a reasonable exchange, as opposed to your border-line larceny attempt.

But I get it, I wouldn't want to trade a player of Porter's value (in the Sun's case, Warren) for Kieff either, but that is why I added the higher worth of the combined other two over the worth of Humphries/Webster. How about if the Suns added a 2017 Lottery protected 1st?

Anyway, McD isn't going to trade Kieff while his court case isn't resolved, that is, unless a GM provides an offer that doesn't take that into account, or at least, what McD would feel as being fair value for Kieff's on-court production.

I mean, Martell Webster, Dejuan Blair, and a 1st that is 2 years removed and is likely to be in the mid-20s? Really? Where exactly is the starting talent there? Or, swapping out Blair for a 30 YO PF with zero range in Humphries?

So, I replied with a minor modification, swapping out the fairly useless 1st with Porter, and added Goodwin/Leuer from our end, and somehow I'm being unreasonable?

So yeah, if those are the type of trade offers McD is receiving, then I don't blame him saying that he's not motivated to trade Markieff--trade offers like that would serve to be quite un-motivating to me as well! :noway:

Let's look at some other outstanding trade ideas from that post:

Morris, Leuer and Price...For...Frye, Fournier and a 2nd round pick

Kieff to Toronto...for...PatPat and a 2nd. (This one is actually pretty good--I'd take that--at least Patterson is young and shoots 3s well)

Budinger or Mahinmi and Solo Hill...for...Kieff

KJ McDaniels, Terrence Jones, Christian Wood...for...Markieff Morris, Pho 2016 #1 (top ten protected) -- So we trade Kieff and late-lotto 1st, for a SG that shoots sub=.300 3s, a PF with a nerve issue in his leg, and an undrafted PF? Ooookkaayyy? :-?

Another beauty from the Wizards...Morris to Washington for Humphries, Blair and a top 18 protected first

Another beauty from the Magic: ORL gets: Morris; PHX gets: Frye, 2018 LAL 1st (if it's unprotected, maybe)

DET: Morris, BRK: Jennings, PHO: Jack, McCullough, DET lotto protected 2016 1st, becomes 2016 2nd

Kieff chief to Denver for JJ Hickson, papanik (non guaranteed), Portland 1st (I admit, this one I'd take on think twice--both players are on expirings, and Portland's 1st is likely to be early 20s or late teens, either this season or next)

So yeah, not a viable starter in the bunch--Patterson being the closest.

I've been saying the possible NBA suspension could be up to 25 games for the Morri. Hell Brittney Griner got 7 games which is 1/4 of the WNBA season. Worst case is the Suns could lose Kief without getting anything in return.

Hypothetical...

What if we offered a 4 year max with a player option for the 4th year to TT.
I think it'd be basically 15mil per.

I'm not saying he's worth it and due to his lack of shooting, he probably would be a bad fit (unless McD sees a serious improvement opportunity with his shooting) but he'd be fighting hard to make himself worth enough to bail out of the deal after year 3.

It would hurt, capwise, now, but if this is the team we're gonna run with, would it not be worth giving it a shot. Another young guy to pair with this team. He has finals experience.

I think I'd rather take a crack at him as opposed to Zeller or Illy
