With Watson being part of Klutch and Ben Simmons' sister moving to Scottsdale, the stars are aligned for us to get the #1 pick.

A Klutch branch opens in the valley!

Rich Paul then controls another weak owner (Sarver) by getting his hooks into him with 2 star players (Bledsoe and Simmons) + the coach.

It's a modern day NBA fairy tale.

Sarver deserves nothing less than to deal with Klutch until it pushes him to sell the team :D

Na. Not scary. You take Simmons in a heartbeat.

The only way you don't take him is if you find out he has a substance abuse habit. Even a small one.

So Simmons @ #1 unless he smokes weed before games or has a taste of excessive alcohol.

Otherwise Ingram.

And if both are pot loving drunks, then we look at other options.

When did a little alcohol stop this team from getting a player? Extreme DUI and Tucker is still wearing a SUNS uniform

Ingram> Simmons you can argue that they are 1a and 1b but thats it . NBA scouts and draftniks are finally comig around to see the light. Ingram is a plug n' play starter who's skillet immediately translate to any team, Simmons doesn't fit like a glove and the point forward is more of a novelty concept where you have to construct a roster to mask his deficiencies

LOL true.

At least Tucker seems to have it under control. Booze ruined the careers of Vin Baker and Shawn Kemp.

Weed kept Beasley, Odom, Larry Sanders, and probably others from having dominant careers as consistent all-stars.

Cocaine killed Len Bias and basically killed Richard Dumas.

Even if Simmons is a bit of a diva and lacks a strong work ethic, as long as he doesn't have any chemical dependencies, he will be an allstar.

Lebron is a diva with a questionable work ethic. He still developed a decent outside shot.

Harden is a pain in the ass. He's still an MVP candidate and would return a great trade value.

Cousins is as big of a headcase as it gets. He's still the top center in the NBA.

Simmons wants to be a big name and wants to be the next big thing. He wants the max contract and endorsements. He also has the talent to make it happen. Worst case scenario, we draft him, max him, and then trade him for a great return if he is more concerned with being a billionaire then winning rings (Lebron). Or maybe he develops into a solid teamate under Watson's watch.

But first, we need to secure that number 1 pick. :)

Well, that second quoted sentence might have been received better had he said. "What we want to GET away from is being in the middle for ANY LONGER"....then had he added something like "We may have a benefit this year from dropping out of that middle due to "injuries" giving us a chance at a high pick to hopefully begin to build something competitive and sustainable."

Or maybe he did say those things...better go read the whole article.

Edit...read it...no, I guess he didn't say anything like I mentioned above. However, I did enjoy this quote
Sarver shared a story about when he pulled up to Monday’s event at Sheraton Grand Phoenix. A hotel valet said to him, “You kind of look like that guy that owns the Suns. That must really piss you off.”

For some reason I can't seem to find today's trolling fan thread about how badly we messed up trading Marcus Morris

That's not a statement/quote from me....

I think boogie would want to come here and his input could be the deciding factor. I'd trade #2/Simmons, Warren, and a Miami pick no q?s asked. Send Len off for another asset for them if need be, then sign Noah. Boogie can be the PF. Bring back 'Big Ball'

I really think our pick will be dealt since we should have the wiz pick. It's #1 or bust

Jah would take much more than that to acquire and he would definitely start over Len

Knight + #4 for Okafor + LAL pick?
Knight for Saric?
Knight + #4 for #2 (assuming Ingram's off the board at #1 and PHI ends up at #2)?

I think BC could be interested in a Dunn/Knight backcourt...

Wow Cosmo.... You seem to be giving knight positive value. Did Myagi put you up to that?

Going to be interesting. Can't see McMully sitting tight. A trade has to be looming.

Lol we're not gunna get our pick back. Philly turned down Knight the first time, definitely wouldn't make that mistake with what they know now

Different GMs, different prerogatives. They need a backcourt. We need to get rid of one.

And yes, Knight has positive value. Duh.

Positive value as in he may net you Robert Covington by himself. Sure

I could honestly see Colangelo trading the 2nd pick for Knight and the 4th pick. I'm not saying it's a good idea for them...but Colangelo makes some weird moves, and if he wants to make Philly a bit more competitive this year, it kind of makes sense in a headscratching way

Simmons would be a weird fit with that club. I could see them preferring Dunn. Getting Knight in the deal gives them a ready-made young backcourt, from 0 to 2 starters, quickly. I don't think they do it if Ingram's on the board, though.

I'm not convinced Simmons will be a particularly effective defender, and I don't think he'll ever be a good shooter. Ambidextrous guys sometimes struggle with shooting because the motion doesn't feel natural coming off either hand. But I like the idea of him facilitating to Bled, Booker and Warren, all of whom are natural scorers. We need a facilitator in the lineup, and Simmons fits that bill, at least.
