When Bender catches the ball at the elbow I'd rather it be for playmaking first and scoring second. Cool they're allowing him to do things though

re: his shooting, as long as he gets some arc on it he's gonna be very good. Biggest problem is how flat it gets, as Brent Barry pointed out.

There's no such thing as playmaking without scoring. And you have to score first. Then you can use the threat to make plays.

Bender looking like Porzinigis on offense! 14 points in 7 minutes (or something similar).

Jackson's ball handling for a SF is impressive, rebounding could average 7-8, shooting needs a lot of work as we know.

of course there is. you can run off-ball action with Bender as the designated passer. See how GSW use Draymond and the Nuggets use Jokic. Neither of them are threats to score 100% of the time with the ball in their hands from the 3PT line or elbow.

You're thinking only of playmaking from dribble drives, where being a threat to score helps open up playmaking avenues. And even then, you can drive to pass or drive to score, both of which will work until the defense decides to take one of them away.

Just based on Summer League and his intent, Jackson could be our primary rebounder of our young core (similar to Draymond) as he's already better at it than Chriss and Bender.

What impressed me the most with JJ is his handles. Reminds me a lot of Paul George, minus the weird looking shot.

Great first half from Bender and Jackson, but they need help to win this game.

Bender playing his best basketball in the Summer League...but Chriss the worse.

Ball movement is nonexistent but JJ at least showing playmaking potential.

Chriss doesn't have a TO yet, so I guess that's progress

averaging 7.5 turnovers per game :o

He is great at rebounding, he boxes out pretty well and he goes after the ball.

He can rebound with traffic and out of his area...in that regard is like Marion.

He has failed like 5 boxouts this half alone. I don't know what game you are watching.

JJ misses wide open trailing Bender, drives into traffic and gets blocked

that can be taught. He's fighting in the paint for boards which is what you want to see
