Am I the only one who wants more? The dude has improved and the box scores look great, but Ayton could be so much better! It’s easy for me to say as a fan and I don’t have to fight Zubac for 41 minutes. But man I get so frustrated when he doesn’t box out or fight on every play. He was boxed out by Jackson a couple plays and Zubac consistently beats him up the court.

Ayton can do better. He could have had a 30x30 game in a blowout last night if he would have played with a little more passion, heart and fierce competitiveness. If you could put Bookers heart and alpha mentality into Ayton, he may be the best center ever!

I’ve said it before, Ayton is very young at 22 and he is growing up before our eyes. He could still be one of the greats, but he has to leave it ALL on the Floor EVERY night! He is STILL not playing to his potential. This should scare the rest of the league... and makes me giddy when I think how GOOD he will be!

Ayton was bad in Game 3, and a key reason we lost. He played like an agile 7 foot #1 draft pick pick in Game 4. We need to see Game 4 performances consistently! Game 4 is Aytons floor... not his ceiling.

You’ve come a long way BIG GUY... and if you’ve come this far, maybe you’re willing to come a little further? You remember the name of the town, don’t you? I could use a good man to help get my project on wheels.

(Project = NBA Championships!)

Lol. Lame post.

20/20/5 isn't good enough for some fans.

Ayton will only get better. We knew that when we drafted him. He was already good with booming potential. He still has tons of room to grow.

Ayton is better than Doncic. You can shout stats all you want but its impact that matters. Ayton doesnt need the ball to dominate. Doncic demands the ball.

Its a huge difference.

Theres a reason we are 8-1 against the mavs with Ayton vs Doncic.

Theres a reason why we look to be headed to the finals while Doncic is at home.

Yet another inside scoop

It wouldn't surprise me if Ayton works hard for the 30% max cap salary. He could garner either DPOY or all-NBA first, second, or third team next season and he would be eligible for it. If he's money-motivated it's good news for the Suns.

Are you saying he would decline to sign this summer and wait till next year hoping for the All-NBA team?

I am pretty sure if he signs a max in his years of experience range (25% of cap - same as Book)..he can add the clause (or it may be automatic) that if he hits the criteria for the 30% max, it will trigger the contract to jump to that amount. You often hear of guys losing out on money because they didn't get on an All NBA team (Jayson Tatum, for example, this year)

The 2017 CBA changed the qualification criteria for "5th Year, 30% Max" contracts. Players who come off rookie contracts at the end of the 2017–18 season, or later, must meet any of the following criteria to qualify:[41]

Selection to an All-NBA team (at any level) in the player's fourth season, or in two of the three seasons between his second and fourth seasons.
Selection as Defensive Player of the Year in the player's fourth season, or in two of the three seasons between his second and fourth seasons.
Selection as MVP in any season from the player's second onward.

I think this is correct ... max contract for his 5th year based on his performance in the 4th year. It will be either 25% or 30%

Oh right, guess we gotta be glad if he earns all this money. Better than him playing average and saving us some dollars even though it doesnt feel like that sometimes.

You would think Finals MVP is as good as a All-NBA 2nd team at least lol

Ayton gets us a ring and we can pay him whatever he wants for the next 5 years without blinking.

its not a coincidence Suns win in the playoffs when Ayton gets involved both ends... hence CP3's statement that Ayton is Suns most valuable player during this run is not a lie... its fact.

I am ashamed and I regret everything I've said about wishing we took Luka with #1

I would be very happy if Ayton won the Finals MVP. No complaint here at all.

Man, send Ayton to study with the dream, timmy, Drob and Shaq in the summer. If he gets another offensive move or two in his arsenal then he is going to become an even bigger beast
