Way more Korver than Dudley.

I can see both the Dudley and Korver comparisons, but he is a much more versatile scorer than Korver and a better outside shooter than Dudley. I think limiting him to being either Korver or Dudley (each are good NBA players) is selling him short.

Usually that would be the case, but lets say Tyler Ennis drops and is there, I don't think it would necessarily be wise to take him over a guy like McDermott would could probably benefit us more. Of course you could take him for trade scenarios, but that's risky. Or another raw project center that would take a couple of years to develop, but is deemed a better prospect than Hood or McDermott. I think we should target a 3 or 4. As far a four goes, that all depends on whether or not we plan to stick with Frye and Kief long term. Kief may be close to starter quality, but as long would rather play with his brother, they are better to come off the bench for the boost.

As far as trading the picks, I will address that in the trade thread.

Could Sarver just adopt him, and have him skip the draft, and sign him as a free agent? :D

Sorry for not responding earlier. Grant seems like just an athlete playing basketball, devoid of the requisite skills to be a NBA small forward.

Hood is way better and his mid-range is right on par with Parker...

I'm a Duke fan, but the thing that bothers me about Hood is that I don't think he's a very good passer and his BballIQ isn't great. Too many times I've seen him force a shot or not make the clear pass for a better shot. Too many times on the break, he doesn't make the right play and seems a little selfish. I am not denying that he is a excellent player, but I've been disappointed in his decision making.

i would gladly take a Kyle Korver clone. With dragic and Bledsoe at the guard spots it so important to have shooters there for the drive and kick.

I'm starting to think there's no way McDermott will be there when the suns pick. With a good tourney I think he's a top 10 lock.

I'm starting to think I really want this guy. I was thinking more of Hood/Young earlier this year, but McDermott would just be a great guy off the bench to really help us get some scoring. And I'm guessing he could probably contribute more immediately than most rookies these days since most have only a year or maybe two in college.

I'd be kind of surprised if he went top 10, but I guess all it takes is one team to REALLY love him. I'm guessing MOST teams in the top 10 want to gamble on a guy they feel has really high upside though and could turn into a star, and don't want to settle for a guy like McDermott who will be a role player, but he will probably end up easily being a top 10 player from this draft class when it's all said and done.

Man, I remember how nuts we got when we had one pick and knew Sarver was going to sell it anyway. How insane will it be with this many picks?

hes a guy who will need to test out well in the predraft camps. If he shows the athleticism to be a respectable defender his offense game will get him in the top 10. Though it is a concern that he might not be able to guard either forward spot all that well.

If you look at MCdizzles past draftees he certainly seems to like those high basketball IQ kids. Rondo, Alex, Archie, Bradley. I can't think of any other players he is semi responsible for but it certainly seems like a trend.

How about taking Chris Walker with the Indy Pick? Long athlete who can shot block and grab boards, has a good vertical and plays above the rim. He's raw on the offensive end but having someone we can groom for the first year or two would be okay considering he'd be our 3rd first rd pick. We have a surplus of PFs that don't bring much athleticism or defense, or rebounding for that matter.

Archie a high basketball IQ? I don't know about that. I remember Calipari said the kid was uncoachable. He may turn into one under the tutelage of Hornacek, but I don't know that he had a high basketball IQ out of college.

I'm just going by what I hear from the coaches. Saw an article earlier today that had Horny raving about how Archie is soaking up everything. I have a hard time believing that he was uncoachable being that they played him out of position most of the time...that right there tells me he is certainly willing. Calapari comes off as an ego manic to me but thats just my opinion from 3000 miles away.

His lack of athleticism could drop him.
