Latest odds I saw from bookmakers have Simmons about a 85% chance of going no.1

Re: 2016 Draft and College Ball
I got a feeling that if we drop down to third or lower, we'll draft Jamal Murray and trade BKnight. Dude seems like a McD guy, and im not talking about the UK connection alone.
Ben Simmons is quickly becoming the most polarizing potential #1 pick in history. IMO there's no way the team picking first will pass up on him. At worst, theyre gonna trade the pick and get some more value. One way or another, Simmons is going 1st IMO.

Simmons screams bust potential to me. Ingram is a safer pick IMO.

Re: 2016 Draft and College Ball
3. Phoenix Suns
Jaylen Brown
SF (California - freshman)
19.3 years old | 6'7" | 222 lbs
Salary slot: $3,952,500
Insider info: The Suns have a major hole on the wing, and Jaylen Brown is an excellent candidate to fill it. He possesses the necessary size, strength and length to play the small forward position alongside the very promising Devin Booker. The two complement each other nicely in many ways.
12. Phoenix Suns (from Washington)
Ivan Rabb
PF (California - freshman)
19 years old | 6'10" | 215 lbs
Salary slot: $1,835,200
Insider info: The Suns are in the hunt for a starting-caliber power forward and could be attracted to the size and rebounding ability of Rabb. He will be able to swing to the five in smaller lineups and has the basketball IQ and competitiveness you look for in a rotation big man. At age 19, he also has the upside to potentially develop into more than that.

Give me Brown and Sabonis (yes, at 12, you watch his stock start to rise) and I will be happy.

Simmons is a SF with PF bulk.... Draymond Green without the hustle and heart??
I still see A LOT of Blake Griffin in him... But with half the aggressiveness and not as athletic.
May become underwhleming as a player IF he doesnt develop an elite work ethic.
Ya Ingram is freakishly long. And if you take away the heart and hustle (the elite defense as well) from Green you get a bench player. And a less aggressive and not as athletic Griffin is a role player.
I think Simmons ceiling is Odom and his floor is a taller Evan Turner with 0 defense

Re: 2016 Draft and College Ball
Was checking some more draft videos, and I noticed Ivan Rabb runs just like Kieff Morris...
the bent knees, the short strides, the back a bit inclined as if he was ...don't know how to say that in english, but like when you let a kid on your back and you pretend to be a horse?

I would be happy with those two in the draft. Then there is this scary article:
http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/241201/Ben-Simmons-Compared-To-Taller-Rondo-More-Athletic-Turner-Skinnier-Royce-White
Simmons continues to have bust written all over him. Philly with the #1 pick which turns out to be a bust would be fitting

No to Sabonis with the Wiz pick if it conveys, that would be a reach I'd rather take a raw developmental big with more upside like Deyonta Davis, Skal or Chriss if he leaves. I'm fine taking him if he's there with the Cavs pick tho.

Re: 2016 Draft and College Ball
I did read an interesting article about Brown the other day and why he went to Cal, and how hard he studies and how education is really important. Even though it has nothing to do with his ball play (which I have watched a bit of lately and not been terribly impressed, especially relative to his draft rank and status) but it did make me like him better, even as a prospect.
It just sucks we get these top 5 picks in terrible drafts.
At this point if we end up at 4 we may get Bender though...heck he may drop to 5 if whoever lands at 3 or 4 wants Dunn, and I think Philly might.

Take the guy who you know can play. The safe pick is often the best pick. I remember Suns fans booing the Nash selection and Ainge calling him the "safe pick" for which he was absolutely crucified on the message boards.
I understand Skal, he was considered one of the best overall prospects in this draft. But I guarantee you people are going to wish they had not passed on Sabonis.

I wish Sabonis could shoot like his dad could. What do you want Sabonis for? Just a guy to back up Len? We have Chandler too. Or do you really want him at PF?
I don't really want Skal, but would be happy with the other two.

Sabonis is a very good college player who will be outmatched physically in the NBA... think Tyler Hansboro
I can't see how we'd pass up Bender.

Re: 2016 Draft and College Ball
I think there's merit in some of the criticisms of Simmons, at the same time I bet Givony and DraftExpress have looked at their website visits every time they take him down, and it's now their go to move, great for business.
Ingram has shot worse and scored less than Simmons in the last month.
As I mentioned the people with the most on the line at this stage are the bookies and they have Simmons at $1.12 for no.1 pick, the field at $6.

No way. His body is made for the NBA.

Re: 2016 Draft and College Ball
Sabonis seems slower than kaminski was with less hops. I wouldn't hate the pick but think he should go lower.

I give up. He seems miles faster to me. I guess we wait for the combine.

This whole thread is unnecessary. We all know what is going to happen.
Suns pick - Murray UK
Wizzards pick - Labissiere UK
Cavaliers pick - Ulis UK
