This may not have been the best off season for acquiring talent that we've ever had but its had the most news to talk about for longer than any I can remember. Training camp is next week.

Nice pickup getting Daniels for nothing. He's over 40% from 3 over his career. 39% last year. He's suddenly our best 3 pt shooter..pretty close with Dudley...but we needed it at SG.

Troy Daniels (who the Grizzlies don't want at all) and Anthony Bennett (who has been cut 4 times in 4 years) new Suns players.

Alan Williams out for a long period of time.

What a terrible day. Enough said.

Suns were under the salary cap floor by I think two million bucks. They get a three point shooter and a 2nd round pick to get above the floor - there is very little bad about this

Now the Alan Williams thing - bad news for Sauce.

Bennett - just a body for the G league

Not a good day because of Williams but the other two moves are what they are.

This is a bottom 8 team - at best, if not bottom 5. So lets hope they play hard, get better but somehow end up with a top 5 at worst.

I think if Brandon Knight was not injured, Suns would have helped in the NYK - CLE trade.

Yeah, Memphis fans are not happy. Say he's the only one outside of Conley and Gasol who can come in and hit an important shot. But I guess if you don't want that and are all for the tank, not good, but we still get a pick.

Bummed about Big Sauce.. hopefully he recovers well, i'm sure the training staff will have him up and running. Gambo tweeted that the Suns got Bookers ok before making the move for daniels. Surprised the Grizz couldn't get more for him.

With Reed and Knight out - the Suns needed another two guard. And his stats show he is a good shooter. Sure, at the end of the season, I will want a top 5 pick. But night to night watching, I will want W's - if that makes sense. I think it was a pretty smart move - and to get a second rounder , which means they will have three next year plus two firsts - isn't a bad thing.

I know this - I do not want the team to tank on purpose like last year. If they get a top 5 worst record its because they were a bad team - no more tanking. Try to get better

So our 17 man roster:

Bledsoe, Booker, Jackson, Chriss, Chandler
Ulis, Daniels, Warren, Bender, Williams
Knight, Reed, Jones, Dudley, Len
James, Peters

Essentially we got a salary dump our way with Daniels + 2nd rounder and got our bench SG.

I think a big selling point would be guarding and agitating Booker at practice.

If our seasons in the tank come February, Reed and Jones may end up getting his minutes.

So our active list to start the season will be:

Bledsoe/Ulis/James*
Booker/Daniels
Warren/Jackson/Jones
Chriss/Dudley/Bender
Chandler/Len

Inactive: Knight, Reed, Williams
2-way: Peters
Cut to the NAZ Suns: Millsap, Bennett, Jok

*Mike James is on a 2-way contract but with all the injuries he should be on our NBA roster to start the season. IIRC two-way players can spend up to 45 days with their NBA teams, so if we want to keep him past November we will have to give him an NBA contract and waive/trade someone else to free a roster spot.

This looks right.

With James I had read they have an agreement with him he won't go to Flagstaff. He'll spend the first 45 days up and after that they will either need to clear a spot on the 15 or cut him.

Like both the moves, but more so the Daniels one. Desperately need shooting off the bench with very little coming from the wings & Reed out.

That "and he has the nerve to talk trash to me" quote is my least favorite Devin Booker moment. He comes off as such a douche. So I'm glad we traded for Daniels. Hopefully playing with him will be a good experience and will teach Booker some humility.

Read on Twitter

It is uncredible to me that we are gonna have Troy Daniels as a backup SG when we had the opportunity to just bring back Barbosa who is a fan/teammate favourite.

McD making another **** personal move IMO. The guy does not get how to create good chemistry on a team.

Sauce injury sucks, but he should take as much time to recover as needed. He's got 2 years guaranteed, and we are not playing for anything this year, besides another high lottery pick. Furthermore it's another good way to figure out if Len is ever going to figure it out. Tyson can't do it all alone, Len will play 20+ minutes early on for sure - especially when old man Tyson is resting his body.

I had hopes for Bennett, but I think his asthma and lack of discipline to stay fit are too much to overcome to stay in the NBA. He should be super aggressive or high energy like Draymond Green or Chuck Hayes to be productive but his short comings may be too much.

The Suns have way too many forwards now. Does it mean Chriss or Bender becomes Center taking Williams's minutes.

And lol at Troy Daniels and Booker when they do play with each other and at the locker room, Troy called Booker out for scoring in garbage time and lacking experience.... now he's his backup...

Look at the issue with him and Booker. Was he afraid or did he backdown to Booker even though Booker is somewhat labeled as a Star or the future? Hell no! If he works on his defense a bit, i see Raja.

Sucks for Sauce as his deal is not guaranteed. So Alex Len - its time to shine

McDaniels helps the Suns get to the cap floor and also will get a second rounder

Memphis gets some cap space.

Big Sauce's deal is guaranteed for the first 2 (out of 3) seasons.
