Basically the entire **** draft :o :o :o :o

Either a bunch of teams are in win-now mode, or this is a god-awful draft. I'm thinking it's the latter. Of course this is the year the Suns have a top-5 pick and four picks overall. :banghead:

It's both. You know the Celts want to win..they were a 5 seed. It's already been written Thibs wants to get vets and compete. Pelicans are eager to keep AD happy and make the playoffs. Kings are always desperate to go somewhere and not rebuild..they want to keep Cousins happy. And Sarver of course. Denver probably eager.

But the draft sucks too.

If Okafor and Len can work together offense/defense I'm for it. Okafor needs to get his act together though we all know he's a prolific offensive talent.

Bledsoe Booker Okafor Len is a solid young core. Pull the trigger McD

I think Len might play more PF, if his shooting has continued to progress. But I'm not sure on that, or how well he defends against other 4s. I think it will depend upon a lot on who the opposing team is putting on the floor. How was Okafor against defending the 4 this past season?? I know he's seen as a relatively poor defender, but is that against 5s? 4s? Both?

You don't want him in space/stepping out to the perimeter because he can't hedge/recover ball screens and poor latearl agility. He held his own against traditional bigs one on one tho

The difference is that in big games, Murray is clutch as can be, and Brown is unclutch as he can be. I don't put a ton of stock in what people can do in an empty gym.

Buddy had a terrible game in Oklahoma's final loss.

I dont put alot of stock into a player having one bad showing despite the importance of the game.

Small ball

Bledsoe
Buddy
Booker
Barnes
Chandler

All we do in this scenario is draft Buddy and sign Barnes.

Not hard at all:

Bledsoe turns it over 5x in the 1st Half
Buddy reverts back to 'norm' of 37% from 3
Booker gets walked all over by ANY 3 in the league
Barnes get's his 2.5 TRBs per half (and we're worried about Chriss' rebounding?)
And age 34 Chandler huffs-n-puffs his way back and for the down the court and is burnt out by Halftime.

Halftime Score:

Any Team: 66
Suns: 41

Then we bring in the 'bench'...yeah, that'll improve our chances...(Actually, with Len and Tucker in, maybe, but then there's Knight to ruin it all again...

Future reference, for anyone who replies to my lineup challenge, please provide a better one. I created a scenario that would be acceptable in my eyes if we wanted to fight for a playoff spot (according to some rumors). I created a team that was possible (no crazy trade scenarios), could fight for at least an 8th seed, stay young, with solid vets.

DRK stated, we should go for Milsap, Cactus and I disagreed because of age, but at least he provided something that could possible please Sarver if he wanted to compete.

Thanks.

In 2 years
Bledsoe
Booker
Luwawu
Bender
Len

Solid, balanced team who run, play switching D and pass the ball.

Brown had a terrible game in his last 5 games when games got important. The last two games before the PAC 12 tournament when you are trying to get a higher seed, then the two games in the PAC 12 tournament, then as a 4 seed playing a 13 seed in the first round.

I mean, honestly, just look at the shooting and turnovers and fouls. It's beyond awful.

I think the Dunn interest is a smokescreen for sure.

We know PHI really, really wants him and are trying to force them to trade with BOS to get him. Maybe help out our Buddy Ainge in getting his guy Noel.

Once we know Dunn is going three, we can flip 4 for someone wanting to guarantee a guy we have no interest in (Hield) knowing that one of Chriss or Bender will still be there at say 8 (which I'm sure we could land from Sac for Knight).

I cant understand any basketball person around the team that looked at Kris Dunn and said "Yep, he wont send us his medical records. Lets use the fourth pick on him."

I also cant understand any basketball person around the team that looked at Brandon Knight and said "Yep I want this guy to be our starting PG."

Say we take Buddy at #4
Murray goes #5 to Wolves
Chriss goes to #6 at Pelicans?
We can potentially move down to 7 or 8 while still have the chance of drafting one of Chriss,Bender or Brown.

Not bad

Bledsoe
Booker
Warren
Teletovic
Chandler (I wouldn't call him small ball but I left him in because you left him in your small ball lineup)

But if you truly want small ball and offense without much defense and a lot of spacing and 3s and someone who can defend wings or PFs

Bledsoe
Booker
Warren
Tucker
Teletovic

When teams go small, that team could rain 3s, but so could the other team with our D so we'd just have to hope we sink more of them.
