... Then again, everyone (save Oubre) looks worse when they're wearing our unis. Maybe Jerome is the second coming. Maybe Okobo would be legit on any other roster. Saric has looked worse for us than he did his rookie season in Philly.

I don't know what the cure is, but it ain't selling draft picks or adding more shooters.

I was talking about dealing Book several months ago, when I concluded that he might just be at the core of our struggles, and that may yet be true, but I'm not convinced that our max potential doesn't involve him. I love Book, but I won't be sad if he gets Nanced. The core of this team's future is, without a doubt in my mind, Deandre Ayton. We'll only go as far as he takes us.

Let's bring some good role players, pray our players don't get suspended or injured so often next season and see what happens ? Maybe repeat of the good start, but for the full season ? This Booker will leave paranoia BS is meaningless.

I’m not worried at all about Ty Jerome looking good elsewhere. He’s simply not a professional basketball player.

I’ve said it before but I don’t think he can even play overseas in Europe or even China.

He’s not made out to play professional basketball, he’s about as athletic as some accountants and nurses that play basketball in the evenings at my gym for cardio.

It’s not his fault that he sucks, he should have never been drafted. Maybe a training camp invite as an undrafted player or a very late 2nd rd pick is about the highest he should have gone.

I’m sure he’s saving the free $5M that James Jones gave him with his contract. He will be working a 9-5 job in whatever he did his college degree in after his rookie contract is up.

I used to compare him to Kendall Marshall because similar to Marshall, Jerome has good height for the position but that’s about. With Marshall, he at least looked like he can play professional basketball somewhere overseas. With Jerome, there’s nothing he’s shown even for that.

... An all-star in the east, unlike Beal? The worst defensive 2 guard in the game?

If you deal Booker, you deal him for a package similar to what we dealt Nance for, or what the Pels got for Davis. Young talent and picks. Use free agency to tide you over while the new guys develop. That's the only way to do it.

Cam’s shooting down the stretch will be key not only see what we have in him but also makes him a more attractive throw-in potentially. He might be more valuable than our pick come June.

JJJ injured. Playoffs becoming a real possibility if we finish the season strong.

Better start beating almost G-league teams more convincingly then.

Nah man, my last bit of playoff hopes were dashed by that Toronto game. The ASB was, I think, our last chance to show rapid improvement.

The only way we still have a chance is if Zion aggravates that knee injury. If the Grizzlies can't hold on, it's the Pels that'll grab that 8 spot. My bet's on the Pels. Imagine the ratings for that first round matchup. :o

Do you realize there are 4 other teams in between us? And 3 of them have 3 of the easiest remaining schedules in the league.

Not a terrible lineup. Why are we keeping Oubre?

And those teams are only a couple of games ahead of us. We are post all star break with our first realistic chance in a decade to make the post season. Hell with JJJ and Lillard injury we might have a better chance to make the post season now compared to next season. It’s time for the team and fans to get100% behind a playoff push.

I think everyone wants to win and make the playoffs. Obviously it would be better to be able to make it without counting on injuries to team's best players, but of course the playoffs would be nice regardless. But I think it's still probably a slim possibility unless we go on like a 14 game winning streak or something, or have like a 13-3 run. This team doesn't look like they have that sort of focus and sustainability in them to me. We haven't won 2 in a row in over a month and haven't won 3 in a row since early November. I'll be pretty happy if we can have a 3 game winning streak before the season ends.

If the grizzlies drop off.. playing slightly above .500 might be enough

The Pelicans are 6-3 since Zion had the minutes limit lifted. The 3 losses are to Houston, Milwaukee, and OKC. In that time, they’ve beaten Boston, Memphis, Portland (twice) and Indiana. They have the easiest SoS left of any team.

I think they have a legit chance, too.

Grizzlies will probably drop off some. They have the toughest schedule left of any team in the NBA. We have the 10th toughest. Pelicans have the 29th toughest. Portland the 26th, Sac the 24th and SA the 23rd.

I hear you.. but the SOS can get really funky towards the end of the season. Our last three games are against the Lakers/Rockets/Jazz. Those could be 3 super easy games if those teams start resting for the playoffs.

We also still have ability to win tie breaker against Blazers/Pelicans.

I guess that's true. I hope if we do get in it's not because we backed into it because several teams were resting a bunch of players in our last few games. But I guess it is more fun to watch games we can win like last night when a team is missing 3 of their top players.

Well let me just start this off by saying i am NOT in the trade Booker camp.

Now with that being said, IF we were being forced to trade him, here's what i would do:

1. Im only sending him to the East. I am not playing against him 4 times a season. I also dont care where he wants to go or none of this "Goodwill towards players/agents", we've done that bull in the past and it has gotten us nowhere and hasnt improved our situation in the league or with agents by directing their players to come here. All that is out the window. He signed a contract and wants to go else where, fine, but he signed, didnt live up to his end of the contract and doesnt have a no-trade clause. I will burn that bridge to the ground!

2. The trades i would look at are :

Orlando for Issacs/Gordon/Bamba/Picks and they have to take Kaminsky
Atlanta for Collins/Hunter/Reddish/Picks
Chicago for White/Markkanen/CarterJr/Picks

I guess that would be a nice starting point in negotiations, but those are quite the asks. I think ATTL's mention of Isaac/Fournier would be more likely, along with a first, but I know Orlando is very very high on Isaac. I assume they are probably fairly high on Bamba too. But a team like Orlando and Chicago wouldn't trade their whole future frontcourt and a top 8 pick from the last couple drafts, just to have Booker and LaVine or Booker and Vucevic.

Jesus Kerrsed... you have DeKlein ghost writing your trades? Those are mighty steep hauls for a disgruntled trade demander. Teams aren’t going to gut their squads to add the mighty Book.
