Will we extend Bridges or will Sarver not pay 4 players big money for 1 or 2 years?

Yes, we extend him or at least match any offer as he is part of core

Really good read. I found the parts of Bridges and Johnson being close friends and Monty acknowledging that the success of guys drafted around Ayton putting more pressure on him to be particularly interesting.

Overall very well written article.

I remember reading an foreign article about Dario saying one of the reasons he wanted to come back was he was close with Cam and Bridges off the court.

I think it speaks a lot to the character of Bridges and Johnson, because Bridges could very easily have thought "Damn, they drafted me and then they brought someone else in to play my position? That's disrespect." and same for Cam who could have seen Bridges as the guy he needed to overtake to getting more minutes.

The fact that they decided to make each other better for the sake of the team is really nice to hear.

I think a lot of the narrative in the NBA today is very individualistic. It's a lot of overcoming adversity, and being better than everyone to be the best individual player you can be, rather than working within a team to be the best team you can be. It's interesting that conversation around the NBA tend to devolve into player vs player debates rather than team vs team. It's Luka v Ayton, Mitchell V Booker, Giannis v LeBron, etc.

It's kind of nice to have a team that's a team, and isn't just one or two stars and a bunch of passengers. It's nice to see young guys that are working for second contracts like Ayton and Bridges willing to sacrifice personal success for team success.

I think James Jones deserves a TON of credit. Looking at the Kaminsky situation...if this had been ANY other year, Kaminsky wouldn't have come back. We've seen so many guys leave disgruntled, whether as FAs or in trades. Frank's option was declined, which must have stung, but he ended up in a situation where he could come back here and jumped at it. That speaks VOLUMES about what we're building, and the culture and attitude around the team.

If the season continues as it has, I think we're going to end up this offseason with some surprise FAs that we never would have thought we could sign for the BAE or MLE.

great read -thanks for posting. seems like a good group of guys
not sure who they can add at the trading deadline but maybe they can get a guy like Javale Magee as they need another big

Rockets have lost 11 in a row so PJ will be gone somehow .. but not sure he fits.

George Hill - again not sure the fit

We really don’t have anything to trade.... so there are very few to trade for. Looks like a waiver wire / buy out pick up if any additions are to be made. Gotta be a big though.

This kid Nader finally had a game to shine on. He’s had some hard luck with his shooting. But the dude can D up. I give Monty some huge nad props for keeping that rag tag line up in to finish off the fLakes... running down the fourth Q with both CP3 and Ayton on the bench. The offense looked out of sync, but scrapped out matching bucket after bucket. I think it was Saric, Book, Payne, Nader, and Bridges. Those role boys had to ride high all the way home. Hope it has a lasting effect.
PS... I was hollering for a time out for subs... and finally Monty called one...but then he banged out the same five. Oh Brother. Idiot to genius ? Whaddoino

Random Q but has anyone else watched games with the TNT OT feeds? You can for free on the NBA app. I gave it a shot and the backboard cam is my favorite way to watch. It's cool to see plays develop from that angle. Now you only get the arena sound but I just listen to music while I watch and really dig the experience.

The Nader 4th quarter block with a view coming right at the camera was awesome.

good point about trades - more likely the buyout market and if not signed after the buyout period - maybe a guy like Dedmon for back up 5 minutes.

Interesting that Suns arent listed as among the interested teams for Tucker. Also Griffin about to hit the market. Boogie still out there too.

Looks like some contenders will have a chance to get better, it would behoove us to try to get better too. Hopefully we make a smart move.

It will be a JJ Watt type of announcement. James Jones just doesn't leak info.

You think giving Boogie or Griffin playing time over someone would make us better? Tucker will get a lot of minutes wherever he signs. All those teams listed could really use him. I hope he goes east though.

I think Jones should be focused on Javale McGee. And I think the Cavs probably can get a player or draft pick for him. I wonder if Jones would move Carter for a rental in McGee. Waiting for the buyout is no guarantee either. Granted, the Cavs would have to want to take on salary

If only he was slightly better at drafting/asset management. Imagine this team with Clarke, Haliburton, and Bane...

Nader’s TS is north of 60
He’s shooting 39% from 3

Just imagine keeping Holmes and giving him the same contract as Sac did (seriously not sure why we let him go...said so at the time) and at the time I didn't like trading the Bucks pick for Jerome and Baynes, even though I ended up really liking Baynes.

But if we did take Clarke (though I really like Cam), but especially Haliburton and had that Bucks pick where Bane was taken (pretty sure we would have taken him too based on the rumors of how much we liked him), we would look really good.

Even with Cam instead of Clarke, just add in Holmes as our quality physical backup in the middle, along with Haliburton as our 3rd 1/2 and Bane as our 4th 1/2...we could still have all of our other guys...minus 1 of (Frank, Carter, Gallo, Moore).

I'd take Cam over Clarke, now PJ Washington that would be a hard decision.

Such a bad way to look at things. You have to factor in the snowball effect. If we drafted Clarke would we have been better that season? If so our next draft pick would have been much lower.

"NY is doing all the right things". Unless someone just wanted to live in NY, I don't know what would be appealing about joining them right now. They are a bunch of really young guys and Julius Randle...and now I guess Derrick Rose along with Elfrid Payton.

I don't even think they make the playoffs. They talk about #4th in the east, but 4th is almost tied with 10th. I think when Indy gets healthy they get back in the mix. Toronto and Miami have been climbing all year after bad starts. I also think Atlanta and Chicago probably have better shots of making it than NY. Maybe even Washington. Washington was like 4-13 and have been better than most of those teams since, like 9-7 since with a very tough schedule.

In a 5 game stretch, Washington beat the Nuggets twice, Lakers and Blazers, while only dropping one game to the Clippers.
