This board is a cesspool right now. Some of you need to get ahold of yourselves. 40 pages of grown "men" crying. Let's get some constructive conversation going again. Even if we lost dragic for nothing I think the suns as a whole would be better off.
"Mannnnn I’m like the guy that pissed this whole board off saying literally all year no Mikal, no Mikal in the KD trade."

Can you guys shut up about Afflalo already? I wouldn't take him for free. Let the kids play already! Sheesh!

Well where's the common sense in that? Common sense just changing all the time, flip-floppin' around...

Though i do agree with you. :D

No one cares about spelling errors but wholly incorrect usage of terms is in another league altogether.

While I might gree with your point in general, I walk a different path when it comes to the metaphorical use of the word "literally". It's been used in this manner by some of the finest English language authors for more than 4 centuries. Purists have only been decrying it's use as an intensifier (or it's metaphorical use) for about a century now. Somebody woke up one morning and realized that it had a specific definition that didn't appear to allow for the way learned minds were using it. That person had a stick up his butt and proceeded to make a big deal out of it. Not unlike the idiot that convinced a generation of English speaking people to avoid the use of the word assume because some Professor once told them it made an ass out of "u" and "me".

Anyway, I would avoid saying "I literally yelled when I heard Goran wanted a trade" but I'd be comfortable saying "I'd literally jump over the moon if we were able to turn Dragic into J. Okafor". But on an internet forum, I'm not going to complain too much if I can figure out what the guy is saying without having to re-read his comment more than twice.

I'm British (okay so I'm actually an aussie with a british passport who lives in London even though I'm writing this from Australia) so tend to view the word for what it actually means perhaps more than an American would. It's very noticeable when people (particularly girls for some reason) use it out of place.

That being said, it is a message board and I wouldn't normally care if the word was used incorrectly, as it was in this case, but 1UPZ is peddling onesided BS that can't go unchecked. Picking on him for his misuse of the word was a way of discrediting someone who clearly needed to be discredited.

I'm not trying to be insulting but do some research on the history of the word. As I mentioned, it's long been in use metaphorically or as an intensifier by highly regarded ENGLISH authors. It also has been in use for a few hundred years by American authors but the Brits have been using it as an intensifier for more than 4 centuries. And I don't really think a message board is best served by "picking on someone" especially when the board is already so polarized but each to their own.

thomas doesn't come close to the player Dragic is at full potential yet Thomas is jockying for more mins/touches than DRagic. I'd be pissed too I'd say know your role scrub get on the bench.

Bledsoe is very ball dominant as well and it's obvious all 3 guys wanted to be the man and there was no trust.

I feel like we need to call in Anthony Robbins or some success coach and get all this stuff ironed out and have people accept their roles.

Yeah, some of us were probably more mad than Dragic even with all the ball hogging going on.

Fault For This Mess Allocation:

1. RMcD's fault (signing Thomas, weird negotiation with Bledsoe, putting together an unbalanced roster) - 50%

2. Eric Bledsoe (no communication during negotiation possibly leading to the IT signing in the first place, hard balling suns for too much money, dominating the ball more this season thinking he's the man) - 20%

3. Orlando Magic (for upsetting Dragic's play by paying Frye way, way waaay too much (PER < 10; no wonder they hate him over there) - 10% (although we don't know how important Frye was to Dragic's success until Dragic or IT go somewhere else)

4. Hornacek (for letting the inmates run the asylum) - 10%

5. IT (complaining about minutes at the start of the season, ball hogging) - 5% (can't blame him for being himself, blame RMcD instead.

6. Dragic (for not being more diplomatic if the Suns have offered to trade IT and he doesn't care and sold them down anyway) - 5% (whatever he does can pretty much be forgiven cause he got shaaafted).

REALLY ?? Dragic only gets 5% " Fault For This Mess Allocation:" ? I get it that not everyone shares the same belief , or ideas here ,,,,,BUT REALLY ?? ONLY 5% ??

Dragics Agent ?,,, The Money ?,,,,,,,Whispers From other Teams Into Dragics Ear ??? NONE OF THAT STUFF EVEN PLAYED 1% In your " Fault List " ??

Dragic is the one that wasn't happy with his " touches ",,,,,,,Dragic stated he had to think of himself , AND HIS FAMILY (( HIS FAMILY ?? ) . That it was better for him , AND HIS FAMILY to move on ,,,Dragic and his agent are the ones that went public,,,Dragic &his agent are the ones that took this public ,,,,,,So Yeah 3rdside,,,,,,,,,,I'm thinking that Dragic has a little more " FAULT " in this situation , than just your allotted 5% . Noticed that you didn't mention the Ball Boy , Ticket taker , or hell , for that matter the Suns Fans that didn't WORSHIP Dragic enough . That would include ME  . I probably should take about 8% of the blame in your Narcissistic Blame Game there.

This is funny but I do agree with your point. Dragic handled this the wrong way and it's mostly his fault for that.

are we arguing about the use of literally?

here is one of the definitions: used for emphasis or to express strong feeling while not being literally true.

SO STOP TALKING ABOUT IT.

If we can't get a decent offer that might be our best move. Correct me if I'm wrong but we can still go the sign and trade route can't we? It might be a little awkward but you just announce to the world that you were unable to work out a reasonable deal and then make the best of a touchy situation. It's not like it's going to derail our playoff train, that's already off the tracks.

BSFan - for the sake of everybody here, before you launch into a caffeine fuelled, anxiety induced, loose cannon of a response, please look at what's in the brackets after the 5% next to Dragic's name.

RMcD has got this so horrendously wrong that I think it's fair to say whatever Dragic did is a function of RMcD's actions in the first place and are, therefore, somewhat justified. Dragic could possibly have handled this better but SF88 keeps making the point (that noone seems to acknowledge) that he has been trying to change things up internally for some time now but got no-where; it looks like his going public was the only option left for him.

This last point may be misguided of course as we're still in the heat of it - we'll be able to look back and analyse with the benefit of hindsight what actually happened - but, as it stands, RMcD and the Phoenix Suns have largely bought this upon themselves.

A million times this. Some of you guys posting comments where every other word is censored look like incredibly salty children who just had their favorite toy taken away.

Even more saddening to go back and forth looking at last season to now.

If we have to, trade both Dragic and IT.
