I used to be fine with the idea of the Suns going after Harrison Barnes to the contrary of some folks here. At this juncture he's played his way right out of my good graces. I would no longer be satisfied with paying this guy any big money, and I salute those who were down on him earlier!

Love is on the wrong team/system I've seen him suck and I've also seen him as a 25 and 12 player. If it was possible u have the choice do u pick Love or Bender right now tomorrow

I think 6 months ago we would go all in on Kevin Love, now it depends on what Sarver has told McDonough about his job, if he needs to make playoffs then he'll do it, but if he's comfortable with a longer timeline probably not.
Harrison Barnes 5 points combined (2 of 19) in the most important 2 games of his life probably cost him 50m and saved a bad team (us) from paying it.

KLove's s empty stat padding prowess on a sub .500 team still puts Bledsoe to shame. He wouldn't singlehandedly propel us to the 8th seed but would still be our leading regular season scorer/rebounder.

I, personally, would go with Bender. I want nothing to do with Love regardless of whether he is in the right system or wrong system.

Re: The Trade/Free Agency Thread: All Eyes Toward The Offseason 2
Kevin Love at his best, as a number one option for years, was never good enough to get the Wolves into the playoffs. As the third option on the Cavaliers (if you even consider him their third option), he does not do much of anything and his defense leaves a lot to be desired. If anyone thinks the Suns should trade for a guy that has proven he is not good enough to lead a team to a playoffs and does not do much of anything as a third option, then Idk what you are thinking.

And1, agree completely. I am amazed at the posters who still look at Love as someone who could be a first or second option on a serious contending team.

We don't even have the team philosoophy /supporting caste of elite role players (like Boston) to surround a second tier star if we even manage to acquire one, and that would require mortgage the future or gutting the roster just to sell tickets. Franchise players are virtually unattainable via trade. The CP3/Harden deals were anomalies not the norms

Love probably is just in the wrong situation, but that should work in our favor if they want to move him. His play should lower his value and make it easier to aquire him. The argument being "we are taking a gamble on him having not declined". His value has dropped, and that should be taken into account or else keep him.

Re: The Trade/Free Agency Thread: All Eyes Toward The Offseason 2
Why do you guys want Kevin Love now? Seriously. The guy is playing awful which makes me want to stay away from him even more now. Bosh did less when he played with Lebron but he was still an excellent player and did so much stuff to help the team win. Love has not done any of that. Forget Love. Just draft Chriss or Bender. Acquiring Love is a complete waste. He will be 28 next year which does not fit the age of the Suns core. He is signed to a max contract. Giving up top assets for a guy that will not do anything for the Suns would be a disaster.

Re: The Trade/Free Agency Thread: All Eyes Toward The Offseason 2
Kevin Love could probably be had for 10 cents on the dollar. We wouldn't have to trade our #4 pick for him. If Boston took Bender, then we could take Dunn, trade Bledsoe for Love if we wanted to.
I'd take Love over Bledsoe mostly because Bled is injury prone.

Re: The Trade/Free Agency Thread: All Eyes Toward The Offseason 2
There's was a rumor circulating through the Suns organization the night before game 5 when Kyrie dropped 41 that there was a 3 team deal set up between the Suns, Knicks, and the Cavs. It shaped up like this...
Suns trade-
To the Knicks:
Alex Len, Brandon Knight, Suns 2016 first round pick (4), and the 2016 first round pick via Washington (13)
To Cleveland:
Eric Bledsoe
Knicks trade-
To Cleveland:
Carmelo Anthony, Robin Lopez
Cleveland trades-
To the Suns:
Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love
That would mean the lineups would look like this:
Suns:
Kyrie Irving
Devin Booker
T.J. Warren/ P.J. Tucker
Kevin Love
Tyson Chandler
Cavs:
Eric Bledsoe
J.R. Smith
Lebron James
Carmelo Anthony
Tristan Thompson/ Robin Lopez
Knicks:
Brandon Knight
Aaron Afflalo/ 13th pick
4th pick (Jaylen Brown in this instance)
Kristaps Porzingis
Alex Len/ 13th pick
Given this is all before Kyrie's 41 and the Cavs are still alive for a title, this trade works for all teams financially and what the teams want to do with their current rosters and was said to be pretty much agreed upon by all teams by someone in the Suns organization. So as long as the Cavs are still interested and Melo chooses to waive his no trade clause, this trade should go through sometime before the draft. Suns fans should be very excited.

Just hoping BC gets desperate enough for Murray/Dunn that we can do 4 for Jah/Lakers pick.

We trade Bledsoe/#4/#13 for injury prone Irving/injury prone/empty stats Love?
Cavaliers get past his prime Melo/just injured Bledsoe?
Knicks rape everyone with Len/#4/#13?

I will lead the "fire McD" parade if we sign Barnes.
I'll take TJ over him.

Bender.
In order for Love to work, you need 2 things. First is for Love to be the #1 option and the 2nd is to completely surround him with defenders. I do mean COMPLETELY! Loves defense is bad.....real bad. Im talking worse than Amare bad. Having 2 bad defenders in the lineup has become a deathwish in the playoffs. Its why Cleveland has been much much better these past 3 games. Having 1 bad defender is ok. Cleveland has Irving and GS has Curry.
Once again, i am preaching about the need to re-build this team around defenders. If this truly is going to be Bookers team, we need a defensive SF and PF. We need Len to worry less about his offense and instead take the very expensive tutelage from Chandler while he is still here and become a real defender.
