I still cant believe that Payton II didnt get drafted. Houston knows the talent is there and has already offered him a 3 year deal, so good on them.

Nothing to lose with 2nd round picks. I like he's a speculative prototype that's worked before as an undersized PG.

who had a better draft than us? the Clippers? they gave up Lance Stephenson and a 2019 1st round pick for Diamond Stone and Cheick Diallo. big whoop.

Philly? Ben Simmons makes them a 30 win team IF he plays like rookie LeBron. i like Korkmaz. 33 wins tops right now.

Spurs? i don't think D. Murray is any good at basketball yet. (creepy feeling that reminds me of when i realized that Kawhi Leonard was ridiculous, after 5 seasons)

maybe the Wolves did because they got Kris Dunn and we didn't.

there is no way Kris Dunn is better than Eric Bledsoe right now. in addition, you fear Eric Bledsoe will break down the way Derrick Rose has, but you couldn't know that. Rajon Rondo has had about as many injuries as Bledsoe. Rajon is still himself, although he doesn't always try.

i like Dunn, but Dunn/Knight or Dunn/Bledsoe is worse than Bledsoe/Knight because Knight and Bledsoe can both shoot. Dunn can't, at least not at that level. so am i investing in this guy, instead of the freaky Dragan Bender AND the freaky Marquese Chriss?

no. why? DUNN AND KNIGHT ARE THE SAME AGE. BOOKER IS FOUR YEARS YOUNGER THAN DUNN.

if we need a guard, we don't need Dunn. we probably need a guard that can shoot, and Dunn is not that. but right now, we really don't need a guard.

The main teams with good drafts seem to be Denver who got Jamal Murray, Juan Hernangomez, Malik Beasley, and Petr Cornelie

and Philly who got Simmons, Korkmaz, and Luwawu

I like Philly's draft,

but did we have one of the best nights of any team? Surely you agree with that?

A+
Suns needed PF. They got 2, both with hight potential, though raw. Got 8th pick without even giving Bledsoe/Knight.
And everybody wanted "true PG". Also got one, who seems good at everything other than being big. And he is Booker's buddy.
How can you not love this? Well, unless you were in the Hield/Dunn fanclub.

Reading through the Boston board is quite comical. They are really giving it to Ainge. lol

Best drafting teams in the McDonough era:

Dunn, Lavine, Wiggins, Muhammad, Dieng, Towns
Simmons, Okafor, Noel, Embiid
Booker, Warren, Chriss, Bender, Len

I'd love to get another 1-2 elite picks (I'm not sure we have our no.1 superstar yet) and then go head to head with these mid-market teams who built through the draft for the next decade, similar to GS and OKC.

I'm already checking for PGs in the lottery next year as the two high level protypes we probably need in the 18-23 core still are a PG and then a defensive SF.

They had very high hopes, they stockepiled "Assets", and with all the rumored players (Okafor/Noel/Butler/Hayward/Parker/Middleton/Love/Monroe) they ended up with:

Jaylen Brown
Guerschon Yabusele
Ante Zizic
Demetrius Jackson
Ben Bentil
Abdel Nader

All those great "Assets" turned into THOSE players.

After Ainge was able to pull off the Big 3 trade back in the day, and a few others, Boston fans felt he was a trade stealing team building god, and i think the league finally got tired of his shenanigans and refused to do anything with them (Besides Memphis Taking on #31 & #35 for the Clippers 2018 1st).

Seriously, their draft was a MAJOR letdown.

Houston already has offered him a 3 year deal, so in a way, he kinda made out better than most 2nd round picks (which are un-guaranteed).

Congratz on a good draft. Wanted to see Sabonis in Phoenix(with 13th pick), but quite positive about where he landed in the end.

Free Agency is the perfect time to move him if we do, teams will start seeing Conley get like $25MM, Lin get $12+MM, etc. and suddenly Brandon Knight doesn't look so bad anymore.

I do not understand why so many fans rate contracts based on the money, and not in the level of play.
If Knight plays just for himself and does not make his teammates better, as he is a PG, it does not matter whether he is earning 14 or 2, as that is always a bad contarct.

I also voted A and then saw that this was the favorite option.

Difficult to vote less that that. Even an A+ would have been possible, because I believe we got the maximum we could with the picks we had.

Trading Bogdanovic for Chriss, basically, is a good and intelligent movement. Bogdanovic was not coming for yet another year. And his game is much more similar to that of Booker than to that of Goodwin. So I believe we are settled at the SG position with Booker and Goodwin and they defer from each other.

I fear how two players that play the same position can develop together and sharing their minutes. Difficult solution in practice. Other than that, I am really happy with the selections and with the roster we have right now.

Bledsoe
Booker
Warren
Teletovic
Len
----------
Knight
Uliss
Goodwin
Tucker
Chriss
Bender
Chandler

I believe Goodwin can get some playing time in three positions and I hope we resign Teletovic, who can play either 38 minutes or just 10 depending on the developing of our rookies.

The important question with this roster is how to get Knight to understand he has to be a PG that has other options around. He has to set foot on court with players that do not need many shots (Tucker, Goodwin, Chandler) and Bledsoe has to play an important starting role and make up for Booker and Warren defficiencies on defense, while being a distributos, as well as a penetrator, as he should play more time with players who need to score to be effective.
If Watson can balance that, I just hope McD remains quite for a season and let this group develop.
Cooking needs time.

No coincidence, there is also a video of Book and Ulis hanging out at some ritzy gala summer event that Kentucky puts on every year where they were both interviewed, they are definitely buddies already and Book probably had something to do with him getting drafted by us.

Chriss is a weird guy:

Asked about being selected by Phoenix - "I'm fine with it".
How was the workout in Phoenix - "Good weather and nice hotel".

Totally serious answers lol.
