I think there is close to zero chance we trade Chriss or Bender as high as they seemed to be on them and as much as they maneuvered in the draft to get them. I'd be surprised with Warren too, but I guess not AS surprised.

I think Tucker and Warren start the season playing most of the SF minutes, with some of Dudley, and then at some point, or maybe perhaps before the season, Tucker gets traded, and Warren and Bender play the SF minutes. The reason I think Tucker probably starts the season is so we can integrate Bender into the lineup slowly. Same with Chriss playing some minutes at PF...but he would come along even more slowly. And perhaps if we keep Tucker, Bender plays some at 4 as well early, alternating with Dudley until Chriss is ready and Tucker is traded.

I will agree with this., kind of.

To think Chriss will be ready for anything but mop up minutes is getting way ahead of the game. He can run fast and jump high, but he's no superman. To think otherwise is not fair to him. I am likely alone in thinking (as it goes against the starry-eyed hopers), he spends most of the season in the D league, getting valuable minutes. And I would not be surprised to see Ulis there too, feeding him the oops. Perhaps we see them both at Phnx games.... but their postcards home will be from Prescott.

I agree Chriss will be only in there in mop up duty. I don't exactly know how the Prescott thing works. I assumed that was more for guys who were not on the active roster. I expect all three rookies to be on the bench.

I believe Earl or McDonough said in an interview that the young guys will see time in Prescott on situations like when we have a home stand with multiple days between games. Like if there were a 3-4 day break between games and there is a NAS game scheduled, they'll send them up to get some more minutes in. I can't see them not traveling with us in favor of D-League games though.

Wow, Jordan McRae with 36 and 9 last night. Kay Felder with 20, 3 and 3. Those guys beat Ingram (-13), D'Angelo Russell (-18), Larry Nance Jr. (-16) and I. Zubac (+4).

Portis still playing too, and putting up good numbers as Chicago stays undefeated, who is playing with Jerian Grant and Denzel Valentine.

We seem to be the only team that's playing pretty much all guys who have never played in the NBA, except I think Alan Williams, who has limited game time.

That makes sense, but I expect them to be on the bench, even if it's just to watch and learn, when we play actual games. It will be great that they will get some game time in though between games.

Need to be careful not to wear these guys out, having them hit that rookie wall.

One more article praises Bender :D

That is a very detailed analysis. Its what I saw of Bender as I watched full games and had my eyes glued on him the entire time. I have gone back and watched highlights of Ulis. I have been studying Bender. Bender needs to develop more of a slashing game. He has the footspeed to do it. On offense, he stands in the corner way too much. I do not know if that is who he is or what he is being instructed to do in this offense. Since he plays on the perimeter so much on offense and defense, he is not that effective as rebounder. His ball handling skills are great and his passing seems good, although he had a few of those hesitant lazy passes that rookies typically make (and turnover).

He had a lot of confidence going into the first game. It seemed to wane with every missed shot and foul called. He has a chance to be a special player, but some things do have to be addressed.

I read somewhere that they gave him the green light and wanted to launch as many threes as possible. Probably want him to get used to the distance. If he can just shoot mid 30s from 3 that will be deadly. It will be almost impossible to block. Then I think working on his other offensive skills will come. Defensively he looks great on the perimeter. So playing SF with those two skills right now is enough to be a fairly effective contributor in limited minutes, especially after getting some time in preseason to polish his game. I'm sure it will take some time to get to that mid 30% from 3, but hopefully it happens this season.

He is the one player I want to see how he compares in a few years with our lottery picks being that he was selected with the Suns 28th pick.

Great game today to watch against the Nuggets, they have good youngsters on their roster. Excited about the Ulis - Murray matchup, two of the better players in the Summer League with amazing basketball IQ and awareness of the game.

Bender - Hernangomez is gonna be a good matchup too, hopefully Dragan shows better playmaking ability and makes some cuts without the ball.

Welcome! Nice to see another "O's" fan on the forum, though that probably means you are a Ravens fan as well, but that's fine; always love a good rivalry!
