The Cavs better be working fast if they want to get Melo and go for another shot at a championship next season with Lebron. In addition to Bledsoe/Warren and the 2 Miami picks, I would also be willing to give the Cavs the Raptors pick we got from the PJ Tucker trade. :D

One thing I want to add about Kyrie Irving wanting to play elsewhere instead of with Lebron. I like it. Everyone criticized Durant for leaving to play for the super god team, and now everyone is criticizing Kyrie for doing the exact opposite?
I would love for the league to have more parity in it, I think it's what makes the NFL more fun. It would be great if the stars start to think like this and go away with the super-teams (unless they go to the Suns of course).

When a star player becomes available I read about all these packages that fans wouldn't give up.

Yet if you add them altogether you could flip a 20 win team into Booker, Irving, Butler, George.

Hey guys, hope you don't mind me stopping in but I thought this might be of interest.

The Trade board this season has started a series of weekly trade challenges. And the very first one was just posted, Continue the Phoenix Suns rebuild.

If anyone is interested, feel free to take a look and pm an entry to me. And if not, feel free and check back at the end of the week to see what posters came up with and vote for your favorite idea(s). But entries are definitely encouraged (just please by pm so it remans anonymous), and if you win, you can make your favorite (or least favorite) trade board mod sport a Phx logo for the week.

Cmon man, are your really going to try to factor in a 3+ point differential and act like it wouldnt be different if he wasnt here playing with the scrubby Suns? I mean he was playing next to Lebron james for christs sake!

Switch him and Bledsoe and Eric will be lucky to put up 20 PPG.

The funny thing is that DEFENSE is a major point people keep bringing up, but when you look at the advance stats, they show Bledsoe and Irving both rated the same with 112, and Irving BLOWING Bledsoe out of the water on offense with 116 vs 111.

PER36 stats of the two are very identical, with Bledsoe averaging about 2 more rebounds, but Irving dominating all the shooting percentages.

And once again people, that is while being stuck behind Lebron, where Bledsoe was our #1 option.

And the injury concerns are far far far different.

If Irving has to shoot 4 more shots/game to get 4 extra Points, does it really matter how much better his shooting PCT's are?? LeBron averages 8+ assists a game, and Irving shoots more often than LeBron; I don't think he's holding him back??

Yes I'd agree if Bledsoe doesn't bounce back to being one of better defenders at PG position, then maybe he's going to be a bit pricey especially given his injury concerns - though Irving is going to get paid too and didn't list Suns on his wish list, which isn't promising.

I could care less what Bledsoe averages with Cavs, Trading Suns 2nd best asset (Jackson) or the current Suns 3rd best player (Warren) and a Pick doesn't excite me at all for a slight upgrade??

I read something from the Clevelander a few days ago. It was that indicated it's not that he wants to 'be the man'. It's that Irving believes James is going to leave and the team, as currently constructed, will be left in shambles from a talent and cap perspective.
So he's trying to get out of the mess before everyone realizes the same thing after James leaves again.

I'm not trying to vouch for Kyrie, I don't THINK I want him either, but I believe that's just as much Lebron as it is Kyrie on those. The Cavs are ABSOLUTELY built around Lebron, every player there depends on Lebron to be relevant, every play they run is with Lebron in mind and a part of. You take that cog away and things are going to take a while to get back. Yeah, this is telling that Kyrie might not be 'the guy', but that doesn't mean he's awful.

All that being said, I don't like his game. I feel like we can afford to be picky because we all feel comfortable with our assets, whether we use them to get a bigger fish, or we let them develop and pick up another asset at years end. I think now is the time to be patient. Kryie doesn't do it for us.

Will agree and say I don't think that says much about Kyrie other than the team isn't built around him. I think with the way our team is constructed, if we were able to keep Booker/Jackson/Bender/Chriss and trade for Irving, I think we'd be a good fit. Chriss on the high PnR, Bender/Booker/Jackson stretching the floor or Jackson cutting to the basket.
It's also a case of the team obviously being super reliant on James that they can't function without him. Irving is also a very capable 3 point shooter, so Booker can run the ball too, and even Jackson.

Good on you, McD. If no one else is willing to offer more than crap, then if the crap hits the fan, you won't be offered more than crap if you try to undo the mistake.

I would prefer that we don't end up with Kyrie in any case. With certain exceptions, I would rather not be involved in the deal at all than be anything other than the third team. Those exceptions are - NONE of Warren, Booker, Jackson, Chriss or Bender are dealt, and the only pick that gets dealt is MIA '18. Other than those two conditions, I'm flexible.

This makes me think we aren't offering them Jackson then which is good.

As has been said, I'm not giving up Book, Jackson, Bender or Chriss. Bled, Tj, win now vet in Duds and picks (even our own) but not those 4. We can take back contracts to help in Shump and Frye, or whatever else (maybe the want Ty Chandler... cool) but the young bucks stay. ****, even Ty Ulis stays. Lol

Either stay the course or change direction.

Mixing and matching is as likely to cause problems as solve them.

If we trade for Irving we should flip every single thing but Booker for 2 more.

Fox/Ulis/Knight
Booker/Shump/Knight
Jackson/Dudley/JonesJr
Chriss/Bender/
Bender/BigSauce/Len(?)

Irving/Buddy/Jackson/ZBO/Papagiannis

Wait, are you saying we trade Bledsoe/Warren and potential lotto pick next year for Fox who hasn't played an NBA game yet? Kings should be the ones adding the value, that's way too much for Fox.

Though I do actually agree with your end goal though. Even though Irving age wise fits and he's immensely talented, I'm not sure if I like his fit on this team. Fox on the other hand I think fits very well based on what I know about his game.

Thats exactly what im saying. Trade Bledsoe/Warren/and the MIAMI pick (You are kidding yourself if you think its a lotto pick and even if for some ungodly reason it is, its still top 7 protected by the Heat) for the #5 pick in a loaded draft. Fox is a stud and his speed and defense would be perfect for this team. Having defensive players like Fox and Jackson bookending Booker would hide his defensive shortcomings.

Dont get me wrong, fox has skills. But he also hasnt played a minute in the NBA. Some of his skills fit great, his lack of shooting could be problematic. PG who dont shoot from the perimeter dont hold a lot of value in todays NBA. Look at Rubio and Rondo. Giving up all of that for him is excessive. We are paying Kyrie Irving price but not getting Irving. And it may be debatable if the Miami pick is lottery or not(thus me saying potential), but its still a decent 1st round pick. And one Whiteside or Dragic injury away from being superb.
