Look at Boston, with their treasure chest.... their off season would have been a farce had they not had a coach who swayed Hayward their way. But, coaches are reasons players go here and there, just as important as winning franchises, cities, and other players. The money has become generic for the big namers....
Exactly. So taking on another two 1st Rd picks next season when we have Jackson, Bender, Chriss, Warren, and Booker; not to mention, on a lesser scale, Ulis, Williams (maybe), Reed, and DJ Jr. (and who knows...maybe even Peters)
At this point, including Len as a S&T option, we have plenty of 'assets' to go after a game changing talent to pair with Booker and Bledsoe, and to me, one of those '18 picks should be at the forefront of that deal.
FAs are not knocking down our door to come here; we have to force a player or two to come here via a trade...THIS off-season, so we improve, and all of a sudden our new star, Booker, along with a darn good PG in Bledsoe, plus what ever 'game changer' comes in, preferably a Center/PF-type?? Then next off-season, we add a piece or two, to finish the build, because THEN...a FA will want to come to PHX.
I'd be all for grabbing another good big but I have a hard time finding a "game changer" type who is available for trade. Especially one who even somewhat fits this teams age group (under 30 would do).

I'd made a list on page back in the 30s:
Drummond
Porzingis
Dieng (Now that they brought in Taj)
Nurkic (Redundant with Collins and Swanigan drafted??)
A. Gordon
J. Parker (if our crack Medical staff clears him)
Capela
Vucevic
Tobias Harris
Jonas Valanciunas
Greg Monroe (Now slimmed down-more athletic)
I'm not going to argue all of them...Monroe, Jonas, IDK, but they were all better than anyone under the age of 33 who started last year. I actually would be fin with Len and William back, but if we want to make 'noise', then I'd go a little more drastic, but easier said than done, I suppose.
But regarding Knight, I'm still not sure why so many feel he'd be so hard to move after just one poor season in a system in which he was obviously marginalized, just one season removed from averaging 30+ MPG for his career...a combo guard who's still only 25, and think him plus next year's Miami pick, plus our pick should net us a decent prospect. Knight makes less than Mozgov and bit more than Plumlee, is better than both, yet both of them got moved without having to take on horrendous contracts...and Dwight maybe be overpaid, but I'd take him an his contract over Plumlee and his any day. So based upon what has actually happened this offseason, as opposed to conjecture, Knight should be able to be traded with 1 or 2 '18 1sts for quality back.
