Where's the guy that was telling me I was totally wrong about the 2-way contract because he'd make too much money in Europe?

Wasn't me but I'd bet he could have made more in Europe. The dream of playing in the NBA is a big motivator for a lot of these guys.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

It's just a guess but I would imagine that we've promised to move him to the roster full time once Bledsoe and Knight are dealt.

It was me. :D

I think that he is gonna have guaranteed contract, those two-way contract can change and I think he is gonna have a roster spot when Knight is gone.

It is really strange because he had offers from Panathinaikos and Olympiacos. I think that he has a promise of a bigger contract.

Why is Dick Pick still being used as a source? I thought he's proven himself to be a fool when it comes to the NBA.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Nah, he's actually decent. Maybe you are thinking of Jordan Schultz.

No. He specialize in overseas players. He's pretty good, at least in that area.

He must have his reasons. Everyone & their mother knows we are trying to move Knight. That would still put him as the 3rd PG behind Ulis though. The 2-way can be converted to a full NBA contract at any time. Maybe they are waiting to resolve the rest of the roster first. With Reed signed today to a multi-year deal we now have 14. A lot depends on what happens with Williams, Len and Peters.

But, coaches are reasons players go here and there, just as important as winning franchises, cities, and other players. The money has become generic for the big namers....

Exactly. So taking on another two 1st Rd picks next season when we have Jackson, Bender, Chriss, Warren, and Booker; not to mention, on a lesser scale, Ulis, Williams (maybe), Reed, and DJ Jr. (and who knows...maybe even Peters)

At this point, including Len as a S&T option, we have plenty of 'assets' to go after a game changing talent to pair with Booker and Bledsoe, and to me, one of those '18 picks should be at the forefront of that deal.

FAs are not knocking down our door to come here; we have to force a player or two to come here via a trade...THIS off-season, so we improve, and all of a sudden our new star, Booker, along with a darn good PG in Bledsoe, plus what ever 'game changer' comes in, preferably a Center/PF-type?? Then next off-season, we add a piece or two, to finish the build, because THEN...a FA will want to come to PHX.

I'd be all for grabbing another good big but I have a hard time finding a "game changer" type who is available for trade. Especially one who even somewhat fits this teams age group (under 30 would do).

I'd made a list on page back in the 30s:

Drummond
Porzingis
Dieng (Now that they brought in Taj)
Nurkic (Redundant with Collins and Swanigan drafted??)
A. Gordon
J. Parker (if our crack Medical staff clears him)
Capela
Vucevic
Tobias Harris
Jonas Valanciunas
Greg Monroe (Now slimmed down-more athletic)

I'm not going to argue all of them...Monroe, Jonas, IDK, but they were all better than anyone under the age of 33 who started last year. I actually would be fin with Len and William back, but if we want to make 'noise', then I'd go a little more drastic, but easier said than done, I suppose.

But regarding Knight, I'm still not sure why so many feel he'd be so hard to move after just one poor season in a system in which he was obviously marginalized, just one season removed from averaging 30+ MPG for his career...a combo guard who's still only 25, and think him plus next year's Miami pick, plus our pick should net us a decent prospect. Knight makes less than Mozgov and bit more than Plumlee, is better than both, yet both of them got moved without having to take on horrendous contracts...and Dwight maybe be overpaid, but I'd take him an his contract over Plumlee and his any day. So based upon what has actually happened this offseason, as opposed to conjecture, Knight should be able to be traded with 1 or 2 '18 1sts for quality back.

I wouldn't count Elijah Millsap, I think that he is gonna be used in a trade or he is gonna be waived.

May be its because you can sign Aaron Affalo, Aaron Brooks, Brandon Jennings, Tony Allen, etc etc for a couple million, FAR LESS... and you dont have to deal with rebuilding the fragile mind of Knight.

Why is that so hard to understand? McDo is the one who staked millions on this guy. Why would any other GM take the same chance.... when it is even money Knight will be waived.

http://arizonasports.com/story/1168363/phoenix-suns-f-marquese-chriss-summer-focus-get-shape-mid-season-shape/

Awesome, awesome read.

Four days.

That’s how much time Phoenix Suns forward Marquese Chriss allowed himself to take off at the end of the season before he was back in the gym.

“I got bored,” he said, smiling.

Chriss mentioned ball handling and shooting when asked about his offseason focus.

“Just trying to score out of the offense and not just 1-on-1,” he said.

It’s a mid-range and post-up game that now has Chriss’ attention.

“I think I’m comfortable and I’m confident when I shoot the ball. I think every one of my shots is going to go in,” he said. “I’ve just been working on my mid-range game. Instead of shooting such a set-shot, (I’m) elevating and getting off the ground and being able to put the ball off the glass, being able to shoot it with somebody contesting it and things like that.”

Following Summer League, Chriss plans to spend some time with center Tyson Chandler. There’s an expectation that Chriss will be asked to play center next season, or at least be the ‘5’ when the Suns choose to go small.

“I’ve been talking to Tyson, texting him back-and-forth,” Chriss said. “We were supposed to meet earlier in the summer but then I came back down here and when I came here, he left so I’ve been here just working out with the coaches. Me and him just set it up that we’re going to meet after Summer League when the teams kind of go (their) separate (ways). I’m just going to stay down in L.A. with him for a couple of weeks and workout out and just train.”

The opportunity to pick the brain of a 16-year NBA veteran is something Chriss is looking forward to.

“It means a lot to me, honestly, as a person more than a player,” he said. “Just that he cares that much about me and how I’m going to succeed in the NBA; and he cares about my growth as a person and as a player; and that he’s willing to take the time out of his summer with his family, with his kids inviting me into his home and train me and help me work out just to get better.”

The business of basketball is also expected to be discussed, according to Chriss, who leading up to the draft found himself the subject of trade rumors.

“I can’t control that. It happens,” he said. “While I’m here—and I hope I’m here for a long time. I love being here, I love Phoenix, I love the team—I’m just going to give it my all.”

Chriss turned 20 last Sunday, but he’s still growing into his body. His early summer work is already paying dividends. After weighing in at 230 pounds as a rookie, Chriss is “almost 250. I’m looking to tone my body up more; just get more in shape. I don’t feel out of shape, but I want to get in mid-season shape right now,” he said.

No rookie, however, committed more fouls or received more technical fouls than Chriss. Of course, those were issues the entire Suns team dealt with in 2016-17.

“I think that’s who we are. I think that we have an edge to us. We really don’t want to take any crap from anybody. Even if it’s an official,” Chriss said. “We have to learn to reel it in sometimes. I just think we have a competitive attitude and the emotions of the game get ahead of us. It’s something that we need to learn to control and channel it in the right way. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. I just think it needs to be at a minimum.”

Indiana doesn't have a single PG on their roster do they? I think that's where Knight ends up.

Same age range as Oladipo and Turner. Ample opportunity to rehab his value in the leastern conference. Much cheaper than the other options.

I'm just surprised he wasn't flipped for Monta Ellis, who was just waived (expiring). I though Ellis had a Player option for 2018-19 but it turns out it was a Team option.

I thought this was also pretty surprising (maybe everyone else here knows except me):

Chriss was one of only two first-year players along with Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid to finish in the top-10 on the rookie leaderboard in scoring average, field goal percentage, rebounds per game, blocks per game and steals per game, despite not ranking in the top 10 in minutes per game.
