Hey guys. Haven’t posted in a long time. This deal would make more since to me if if was Lonzo for Jackson, #6. Then Pels send #4, #6 to Memphis for #2 (Morant). That would make a stellar trio of Morant/Holiday/Zion.

ForMemphis to do it they would have to be sold on either Garland or White as at least close to a PG prospect to Morant while picking up another top prospect. That seems like a feasible scenario.

For us, it reduces salary while also filling a position of need with Lonzo. Question for you guys who are good with cap scenarios. By trading Jackson and #6 for ball, stretching Tyler Johnson and sending out Warren for a future pick, wouldn’t we be able to have space to sign a top PF to a max contract? Thanks for any input in advance!

Just really weird. This, like Horford, has to mean they already have a deal in place that'll help with cap space.
If not, the Kings should cut bait and run, no?

Well they are the ones who traded for him this season...they had a bunch of cap space and needed a SF. Before they traded for him I was worried they might be a team that would give Oubre a big offer.

First thing is Barrett is Zion's college buddy. So the thought is that a match of them together would keep them both together working to making the team successful. Next the salary total of TJ, Jackson and the 6th pick is right at the same spot as Holiday. As far as signing a top PF player who add to this team and would except to be the 4th option on the team?

In that scenario we would get a defensive 4 so being the 4th option wouldn't be an issue

I think going after H Barnes at the PF would be smart. Pay up for your forwards --- Oubre and Barnes --- and pair them with Ayton, Booker. You'll need to trade away Jackson, Warren, and another player to have room. And hope Tyler don't opt-in.

As for point guard, I'm afraid it's just gonna be Okobo, Melton, and some free agent bottom-of-the-barrel scrape like Trey Burke, Ish Smith, or Cory Joseph. Although I'd gladly take Quinn Cook at this point if he comes cheap.

Well at least you have low expectations so you can't end up too disappointed.

This must be complete garbage. Why would Memphis give up the #2 pick(Morant) for the 4 and 6? And if NOLA wants RJ then wouldn't they trade for the #3 pick instead of 2. No way I see Memphis giving up their pick because after the 1 and 2 pick the draft is basically over.

Maybe only if they figured they could get Garland and Hunter or Garland and Reddish. If they find Garland to be comparable in terms of star potential at guard. They'd be getting a two for one in that scenario.

And also being able to put either hunter ( at the 3) or Reddish ( at the 3) next to Jackson Jr. Could be very intriguing with Garland's shooting and both Hunters' and Jackson Jrs' defensive versatility and 3 point shooting ability. Or both Garlands' and Reddishs' scoring versatility and Jack's Jrs' defensive versatility. It'd just give them a better balance, more talent and options due to the versatility of their skillsets. So maybe that might be a consideration for them.

I honestly don't even know who would want him. Maybe they can stretch him and $17+ million a year for the next 7 years (joking).

This will be the one Gambo tweets its not happening and it happens. I don't see this being very likely. If they don't want Conley at 2/65, why would they want Paul at 3/125. Granted, I don't disagree that Hardens and that offense will never win. One thing the Raptors did was get a lot of good possessions (except after the "infamous time out) - but the Rockets had MANY bad offensive possessions with Iso ball. Say No to CP3

It won't be easy. But there are other bad contracts out there so we could see a my trash for your trash deal out there.

Yeah, there are few teams out there that need him and have the salaries to match I feel.

Maybe the Pistons swap Blake for Paul if Houston gives them enough draft pick incentives to do that.

It's a shock to see Barnes and Horford opt out. BUT the landscape of the free agent class has changed.

There is a good shot that 4 of the top 5 guys now stay with their current teams (Klay, KD, Claw, Kemba) and Kyrie probably goes to Brooklyn.

So now you still have a handful of teams with 1 or 2 max slots that need to spend money.

This means the next tier of free agents might find the market lucrative.

I don't think we will see stupid deals (Like $50 mil for Miles Plumlee  ), so that means Bumpy probably opts in, but I do think we might see teams overspend.

Suns contingency plan breakdown:

1. Jrue is option 1! I'd love Jrue on this team, but given his contract and injury history, it needs to be for Josh Jackson and either TJ or #6. (#6 + TJ is too much)

2. If we strike our on a reasonable Jrue trade, I still like the idea of giving away Josh Jackson (even if it means attaching the Bucks pick) and stretching Bumpy and then making a big offer to Dlo or Brogdon.

3. If we stretch Bumpy, ditch Jackson, and strike out on both Dlo and Brogdon, then we can still use our new cap space to add a few guys like Beverly, Randle,

4. I wouldn't take Chris Paul even if he was free! He's a cancer, he has a huge contract, and he is old!

Chris Paul is a perpetual loser and a team chemistry destroyer. If a player demands a trade you should have the option to wave his contract. I hope they send him to cleavland.

Lonzo Ball is not worth the #6 pick of the draft.
