Why would Philly want Gortat when they JUST traded Iggy for Bynum?

You can't offer an extension until the final year of the contract, so the Suns are unable to even make an offer until 2013 offseason.

Mid 1st picks/prospects that actually show signs of life still on rookie contracts. Lakers would need more in return than those 2 if they are sending out Pau as well, would be difficult to make a deal work.

Well some discussions on the trade board included an offer for Gortat which I really like: Lee, Bradley, Melo, BOS 1st. Some of you (for instance Kerrsed) didn't like Lee in that deal but Lee is on a very solid deal for the next four years and could easily be traded for an expiring or another big man. All I have to say is that, looking at how our team has looked like this season, I would have no problem trading Gortat if we can a big man that can replace his body and some young talent and Bradley+Dragic would be awesome for a couple of years.

You guys can look at tradeporn all you want, but I dont think theGORTAT is going to be on the table till draft time. There just are not any deals that make sense, nor no motivation on our part other than gaining future assets. He is not exactly expendable. TheG will be much more valuable come draft day and may be the difference from drafting 13th and drafting 3rd. (I guess you could argue to trade him now... as we'd suck bad enough to get the 3rd pick  )

To improve this team, I think we have to get better wing play. I'd like to get Danny Granger (recovered) here. He's out till at least Feb with a patella prob. Might be in the bag for INDY by then. Dudley/Johnson works, but we'd have to sweeten it w/picks. Med Staff would have to sign off on him too. He could be an off season target, since the FA market is shallow... and our last investment at the SF slot has given us a Measley return. It will be interesting to see if we have the same front office by then. I am not sure who pulled the string on theBeas... but thats turning out to be a sheetstain. Seems like we are batting about .500% with personnel decisions.

Its hard to imagine us rolling into draft day with 4 or 5 picks.
Some here would go into shock :o .... others would have a draft analysis aneurism :falloff: . I think for the overall health of this board we need to move some of these.

Unless I'm so tired that I imagined it I could swear he posted a trade sending Gortat to Philly with Gasol coming to phoenix.

If that is all we are getting you should find a way to dump Beasley and not take back Green.

Oh, hell no Frank. I won the phxsuns.net mock draft contest and I aim to beat my score and retain bragging rights this year. Its my favorite time of the year since we won't be sniffing the playoffs.

You could argue that BOS should include Sullinger (with/instead Melo). Don't think that our front office will give up on Beasley not to say that his deal is borderline terrible and not tradeable. Which team could take a chance on Beasley? Maybe Charlotte (in exchange for Diop) or Cleveland (in exchange for Walton) but that's about it.

Raps fan here...

Marshall and Dudley for DeMar DeRozan. I'd ask for your pick if you include Frye, but what do you guys say?

I think we'd have to (excluding the Frye part). Very reluctantly, I'd pull the trigger.

We are terrible. That's a very valuable pick. No one on our team has a salary bad enough to give away a first to dump their salary.

God, that's tough. I don't like DeRozan but he is young, his contract isn't horrendous but it is pretty horrid. Would you possibly include a second rounder?

So... Marshall (who is a question mark since he hasn't really played) PLUS Dudley (who will turn himself around eventually, and is a great hustle player) PLUS Frye PLUS the Suns first rounder for one athletic, yet overrated player in DeRozan?

No thanks. Why would the Suns include their pick for you to take Frye? As much as people don't think so around here, he's a pretty valuable player to the Suns, when he isn't out indefinitely with a heart issue.

DeMar DeRozan is not worth 3 players + a presumably decent lottery pick.

Just Dudley and Marshall for DeRozan. The Frye + 1st rd'r was another variation of a trade for DeRozan.

I wouldn't want to take on Derozan's 9.5mil per contract at all, let alone give up anything of value for it.

I really don't think the Suns are even going to be in talks to trade any players, or have players traded to us. It will be a silent trade season for us.
