I wouldn't offer much for him though, because he has a pretty sizeable salary, so I'd probably approach Orlando with something like this.

Maybe I'm not understading here, but his contract is one of the biggest reasons as to why Afflalo is a desirable target.

If you are going to argue the merits of adding a player, you can't ignore the means to acquire him. Isn't that how things work ? We'd have to eviscerate this team to get either Gasol or Love via trade.

I'll take my chances with what we have. The deal is Okafor plus picks for ? Isn't that what McDo sort of indicated?

Yeah, I kind of agree. We have discussed him before here and his salary was mentioned as a deterrent, but after the way he is playing this year, it is actually more of a value contract. I was thinking he was at $8.5 million a year for about 4 more years, but looking at it, I see it's $7.5 million for this year and the next two years.

The last couple of years I've spent my trade machine time trying to deal away: Childress, Beasley, Brown, Gortat, Aging Nash, Shaq, Turkaglu, Warrick, Scola, Lopez, etc.

Obviously scaling for talent, almost every player on our roster now is more movable than those guys.

I don't think we need that crunch time player 1st option player because we have two of them. You put the ball in either Bledsoe's or Dragic's hands and let them drive for layups or kick for open shots. Dragic was murdered by teams last year because by the fourth quarter he was exhausted and didn't have players who could help him. This two point guard system is huge for our offense efficiency (currently like 7th best in the league). The area where Love helps the most is rebounding. We are a bottom third rebounding team (what's new with the Suns) and would cut down on the offense rebounds and improve fast break opportunities with Love in the fold.

Having Love on the team would mean we take a significant scoring load off Dragic and EB, allowing them to be better clutch performers. Also as you mentioned, with our run and gun style of play, if we put Love's rebounding and the best big men outlet passer in the game, our offense would be lethal. I think if EB can continue to improve and be a clutch guy then trading for Love (3-way most likely) would make a lot of sense. It'll be like a poorer man's Prime TD/Park/Manu trio.

For sure, which is why you'd have to blow them away with an offer. But Kevin Love is worth it. He's a top 10 player in the league, and I'm willing to pay the price to acquire one.

I agree. Love would get his points during a game and supplement both Dragic's and Bledsoe's scoring punch. I was addressing someone's complaint that Love was a second option and we needed a first option. Again Dragic/Bledsoe are a 1st option because of their ability to score or assist off of penetration and pick-n-rolls.

Look, getting Love is next to impossible. You can try to come up with all the trades you want, but the thing is, we would have to beat LAC and their offer. Word is, they would totally offer Blake Griffin in a trade for Love. I dont blame them. And no amount of late 1st round picks and Len are going to top that. Blake is an all-star. He is one of the most exciting players in the league to watch. He will generate money for the Wolves by the butt-load. We can not compete with LAC, so its not even fees-able to try.

I don't think Love would be available this season. Almost certainly, he will be moved this summer. The question is which teams are willing to risk him for a possible one year rental? The Clips make the most sense as they have a good chance to re-sign him because of Paul, being in LA, and offering the best contract. I don't think the Lakers will be able to make a run at him unless you see another round of player collusion (e.g. Kobe, Love, LeBron).

What is the feeling for Lu Deng in PHX? The trade i've been wanting is Deng, Teague, Dunleavy for Okafor & '14 1st (whichever one PHX is willing to send).

IMO, I dont think we need Deng this yr. He will be a top 1-2-or 3 FA on the auction table in the off season. Some team could come along and throw him a boatload, and we'd be out a pick.... for what ? If we want him, we can pony up in July w/o losing any assets.

Just saw MKG may be available (via WireTap). I feel like he'd be a solid fit in PHX, not sure his cost though. Bledsoe-Dragic-MKG is solid. Would be perfect if you guys landed Julius Randle in the lottery.
