Anything is possible. I think he could possibly make a difference. They like floor spreaders. I'd say it's us or Portland though.

So if we brought back the same team, do you think we are a playoff team next year?

I used "today" to cover both haha. They didn't say how specific the time had to be.

One thing about getting LeBron is that if Melo signs with someone else first, then the whole "you and 'Melo can pay together" is a moot point.

I hope McD reminds LeBron of that.

If Bledsoe stays healthy we're a playoff team this year. But I highly doubt Suns stand pat. A dream offseason for me is adding LeBron, Gasol and keeping Frye and Bledsoe. That easily makes us a championship team, and we'll likely end up with some decent picks and cap space next season as well with those moves. Even just adding Gasol and keeping Frye, Bledsoe and Tucker likely makes us a top 6 team in the West, with even more to spend next offseason, or the ability to take on salary in a trade come February. I'd also hope we can factor in a little more production from Len and Archie, which will also be an improvement. No matter what I don't think we can go backwards.

I think the Melo connection might just be conjecture. We've never been definitively linked. I think we may have said we'd like to pair LBJ and another star, and some writers concluded that meant Melo. I think a LBJ+Gasol pairing in PHX is less of a pipe dream.

I'm not sure LeBron considers playing with Gasol that exciting.

Perhaps not, but playing with Gasol, Bledsoe and Dragic....

If 35 year old Pau is our big FA pairing for LeBron then there's no way that LeBron even considers this place. Hell even I would rather play with freaking Haslem than with Pau.

Some Oregon beat writer said bosh and wade had their contracts basically done. Than it's was disproven. Than the US soccer team lost. After that coro tweeted out the summer league roster. That's about it.

I wish we'd at least make an attempt at Paul Pierce if the LeBron thing falls through. I'd rather have him than anyone else on the market, at least for a year or so until we can re-assess next summer. I would just offer him big money. He'd fit right in. I know it's doubtful he would leave Brooklyn, and they would pay him, but it would still be worth a shot. We could give him more money than just about anyone. Nobody else that is any good can give him big money. I don't know how much he liked that Brooklyn team. At times he was carrying it...or him and JJ. Hopefully KG retires, and Pierce says "where can I get paid and be on a good team for a year?"

Why not? Gives us a better chance to improve with some more vet leadership, Warren can watch and learn, etc. With all our cap space why not go for him?

Alex Kennedy: The Milwaukee Bucks are shopping O.J. Mayo, according to league sources. Twitter @AlexKennedyNBA

Can we get him guys? Please please please.

Just kidding.

Anthony Slater: Thunder reportedly interested in PG Sebastian Telfair. He was in OKC today: instagram.com

Alex Kennedy: Not a surprise, but Tayshaun Prince is on the block. The Memphis Grizzlies discussed a number of trades involving him, according to source. Twitter @AlexKennedyNBA

Alex Kennedy: Sources say the New Orleans Pelicans are making most of their roster available in trade talks, including Eric Gordon, Tyreke Evans, etc. Twitter @AlexKennedyNBA

Alex Kennedy: The Denver Nuggets have considered trading JaVale McGee and/or Wilson Chandler, according to league sources. Twitter @AlexKennedyNBA

As well they should, that roster is terribly put together. Were it not for hitting the Jackpot with AD they would be in the worst position of any team in the league.

I'd be down for Wilson Chandler. He's dealt with injury trouble past couple seasons but if our medical staff checks off on it.

Alex Kennedy: Source who's at dinner with Carmelo Anthony, Joakim Noah, Derrick Rose, Tom Thibodeau and others said that Bulls' pitch is "going great." Twitter @AlexKennedyNBA

This stuff makes me laugh. Of course they are going to say the meeting went great. I have yet to read a story where a player is unhappy or upset with a team who is highly pursuing them, at a meeting design to woo them.
Like you never read, "the player was interested in signing with a team and the team was very interested in them but at the dinner table he became very agitated and was upset with the team."

Miami was targeting him.

Anyway good for Gortat.

Once the Lowry domino falls, Miami will be out of options...almost. I just don't think Deng+Gasol=LeBron staying.

I actually disagree. While I don't think they have enough for both guys, Gasol and Deng would be a great fit for the Heat and enough to keep them all there. That lineup would be ridiculous.

Maybe a great fit 4 years ago. But Pau is soft AND old. He is often injured and doesn't run the floor. Deng has so many miles on him, it's not even funny. The Heat (and more importantly, LeBron) don't need old guys who are going to be too tired to play in the finals; they already experienced that with Wade. They need younger studs who are capable of taking the scoring load off LeBron's back for a bit (aka Bledsoe, Goran, Markeiff, etc.)

Did not expect Wade and Bosh to take such pay cuts. Had Lebron taken less salary they'd be in business.

Gortat getting 5 years.
