Seems like the draft stock in our range is getting worse.

Isaac, Smith, Ball, Monk with a really quiet month so far.

Jackson, Fultz not playing.

What am I missing? Why is there so little talk about Fultz missing all these games. Is no one concerned about his knee?

You're right, there's almost no news about it. If he hides medical records like dunn did last summer I'll have more concerns.

But why would they release that it was because of his knee? I'm pretty sure that's not something the school is allowed to lie about either. And the rumors about his knee problems started a few games before he actually started sitting out.

Anyone else enjoying Lonzo Ball get exposed vs Arizona right now?

I won't deny his good court vision, but that shot is beyond terrible.

If Markkanen keeps playing like this, he will be tough to pass up. If you are 7 foot and can hit the 3 like that, and tonight he is showing some serious defense, rebounding, block, steal...

He may end up being the case where, if he has a chance to be the next Dirk or close to it, don't pass on him because of Bender. You let those guys figure it out and just rotate him, Chriss and Bender in the front court.

And WHO didn't like Alkins?

Extremely underrated, I think his draft stock goes way up during this years tournament. Mid-Late First IMO.

I was thinking the same thing about Markannen. He's been playing defense, which was what I was most worried about. I would really love to see him in a Suns jersey.

Its still a major issue. His defense has been horrible, but seems like he just really stepped it up during the Tourney. If he can defend like he has been, whats been stopping him all season long? Laziness? Not caring? I just think it raises more questions knowing that he can, but just hasnt until now, when the most eyes (and scouts eyes) are on him.

Probably he just wasn't used to having to defend...it never mattered before. He could dominate. Every team he ever played on won and that was all that mattered. Coaching. Sean Miller is all about defense. He demonstrated it and knew he had to for the team. Most young players that come into the league never really had to play defense. Demonstrating the ability they can is what is important. He will have to in the NBA to get a lot of playing time. He is already playing better than Kaminsky did as a senior and he is a freshman. I don't think any 7 footer in college as a freshman EVER shot 3s like he is doing. He is special.

I want to see it vs Oregon. I'm always careful about not overreacting to games vs UCLA because they don't play defense. Leaf and Welsch are embarrassingly bad defenders.

Win or lose I'd happily take #2 in the West or Midwest.

Since when should player improvement be met with suspicion? Especially from a freshman?

Especially from a freshman from a foreign country whose had to learn and play all 3 front-court positions this season due to injuries and a suspension.

I don't think the scouts are as ignorant about him as the mock draft sites seem to be. IMO he's already penciled in as a solid first rounder no matter how his tourney goes but he could be a possible lottery pick if he were to carry the Cats to the Final Four. My guess, he'll go in the mid to late teens.

I might be a little bit biased regarding Lauri, but I think there´s zero worries about his character or dedication to improve as player. I think the defensive problems have more to do with the fact, that in Finland he could get by just being taller and more athletic than anyone he played against on defense. So I would take every sign of him being able to play NBA-defense as a huge positive, not as a sign of him being lazy before, maybe he´s just figuring it out right now.

Markkanen shot making is as pure as it gets.
+20 ORtg with him in the court is really hard to achieve, especially for a freshman.
Just to put this in perspective, Anthony Davis got a +22 in his historic year at UK.
