I think Malone is a good coach but until the GM is figured out and the roster is truly figured out - not sure the HC is the highest priority

Would be hilarious if suns hired Malone which would make third title coach in past 4 seasons for us. lol

Why would you lose money ? Are you betting on the Suns ? My only losing bet(O/U 46.5 wins) on EL and NBA.

I enjoys all sports so I gamble on mlb, nhl, bball, nfl. Last year was better while this year started off poorly.

Good luck next season then.

GM is more important hire than HC

I listened to a lot of the podcast with - was it Howard Beck - -some guy named Beck

They were talking about why the Lakers are good since trading for Luka and why its worked quicker than he thought - his answer was simple "they have two of the best players in the league"

Hmm -- Durant and Booker haven't lifted the Suns. I get they aren't LeBron and Luka in terms of passing ability but come on, they should be better

Wow, why they fired Mike Malone? That's a joke. The team is playing well enough and they have lost (over the last few years) multiple important role players...so IMO Malone was doing a nice job.

Ridiculous.

Robert Sarver crippled my Suns fandom, but it survived. Mat Ishbia has killed it.

Love reading what a lot of you have to say and I have appreciated knowing that I was not suffering in silence. I will be watching, like many of you, to see what nonsense they try this summer, but if you have been a long time Suns fan like myself (I became a rabid fan of a rookie named Walter Davis as a kid), then you already know that it isn’t going to good news any time soon.

Durant may be the most talented Suns player ever, but he is a bucket without a heart… Booker may have supplanted my beloved Sweet D as all-time highest scorer, but like Davis, he lacks the killer gene that will make him the leader that the Suns (I almost said “we” and I can’t do that anymore) have needed since CP3 was banished for B_a_l_y B__l.

Ishbia has hamstrung this team with its own Achilles heel and it will be years before they are competitive again in a very deep and talented league that, ironically, has become completely boring (at least for me) to watch outside of a few teams who move the ball, play defense, and shoot well from inside and outside.

Someone needs to take this season out to the woodshed and put it out of its misery. I’d make an Old Yeller reference, but that dog had heart. This team is gutless, rudderless, and maybe the most disappointing professional team I have ever rooted for and I’m a Cardinals (AZ) fan, too.

There seems to be a disturbing trend brewing now with this outcome of a fundamental disconnect between ownership and coaches resulting in these puzzling firings?

I don’t know what you want from me sunsbg. I’m not hurting anybody just gambling because I enjoy it same way as you enjoy betting or watching the Suns.

I have read Booth and Malone didn't get along
Booth didn't build the best roster

Malone seems like he can be a "richard" to work with - good coach but might not be easy

'outside of a few teams who move the ball, play defense, and shoot well from inside and outside.' I am curious which teams you put in the category?

Just to add insult to theoretical injury of the past report of Ishbia and th er Suns not having any interest in Bob Meyers as a potential GM hire this summer. :banghead:

What would you guys be willing to give up in a trade for Giannis if he were to become available this summer or asked out?

And how stupid would it look that we gave up all of our draft picks/ assets for this failed experiment only to now also not he able to even field a competitive offer towards acquiring Giannis?

Well, you answered your own question. :) There is nothing we can give up for him. Booker + some late picks won't get it done. Though we will get something of value for KD, nobody else. So everything we have for Giannis lol. He's not exactly young though.

I can see why GOK brought up Giannis - as it is truly a Ishbia type move but I am done chasing stars on the latter part of their career. Build up the roster -- that takes patience, discipline, a person with a vision. Enough with the overpaid players stuff. Quit chasing. Start building again.

There won’t be anything shocking here but from what I have seen, OKC, the Celtics, and the Cavs seem to do it right. I enjoy watching the Nuggets play offense, too. Joking is fun to watch even though I hate him.

Malone or Jenkins for head coach? Overbid for Myers and give it some time.

Just really a topic for discussing peoples' thoughts on this hypothetical and where everyone's at on our current situation and how we got here as a potential discussion topic to field engagement. That's a lot of why I share these things, honestly. :D

No, I fully expect Ishbia to be do the "least rational but most overhyped " transaction. Meaning, it will "look big" but in reality, it doesn't do anything to improve the roster and depth of the team.

Trading Durant for KAT or Markannen. Some move that the casuals might like but doesn't fix the long term issues
no depth
no tradeable talent
still above the apron levels
no draft picks

Like when Bobby Marks said stretching Beal would allow the Suns to get the MLE. I think the MLE has shown to be over-paid players

A dramatic cultural change towards coaching and the views on old-school/ old guard tenured coaches is playing out before our eyes.
